View Full Version : Wedding help! I need everything!
Mini Milk 08-12-2009, 17:16 I am getting married next July and I need just about everything except the venue & wedding dress, although I do need my wedding dress altering as i'm quite petit. I need 2 bridesmaid dresses a photographer & vidiographer, wedding cars & a coach that can take people to the reception, a caterer for a wedding meal & a BBQ in the evening (catering for about 60 people) numbers not confirmed yet), a marquee, bar, disco and anyone who supplies all the tables chairs crockery the whole lot! I also need a florist, and suits, i'm at my wits end already!!! i've still got 7 months to go but it feels like 7 days! My wedding is held at the Sheffield register office so I don't know where the photo's can be taken, but the venue is a bit of a drive to foxholes cottages in High Bradifield where some photos could be taken as the view is lovely. I don't have a great deal of cash to spend as we are just setting up our own business in digital instillations so if anyone would take work as payment that could possibly work out :) I'm pushing 40 and this is my first marriage! no one ever thought i'd get there, but i've found Mr right and I want it all to go perfectly. If theres anyone who could offer their services I would be very very greatful.
Mini Milk 08-12-2009, 17:44 Forgot to say I also need a hair dresser! the list is getting longer by the minute! lol
Mini Milk 08-12-2009, 17:56 And table favours and name place setting! (is this where I start to tear my hair out!) no wonder I never married before! lol
KATIEB_23 08-12-2009, 18:29 Congratulations! :D
If it's nice weather, the Peace Gardens/fountains would be a lovely spot for photographs, and if it's raining, the Wintergarden is just next door ;)
I can't recommend our videographer enough - they were lovely, and the video is amazing! Truly the best part of the budget we spent as they captured every moment :)

Our florist - http://www.monicafhewitt.co.uk/weddings.asp
They were very good value. I would recommend going to see them as they were so helpful & friendly in consultation and didn't make us feel pressured into using them at all.
Disco - contact our very own Forum member Classic Rock. They were fab and had everyone dancing all night long! (they don't just play rock BTW)
We made the invitations, place settings & table plan ourselves :)
Mini Milk 08-12-2009, 18:32 I'm thinking about doing the place settings and favours myself, i'm good at crafts and arty stuff, I have some invitations donated but I need them to be printed, so something else to look into, this wedding is already stressing me out and I only wanted a small quiet day with close family, but its turned into a full weekend away with all the bag of mashings! lol
wait til jan for sales for other items suits ect realy drop in price

Mini Milk 09-12-2009, 20:04 Thanks to everyone who's messaged me so far, you've all been really helpful, but keep them coming :)
for a good price on bridesmaids' outfits, I took my bridesmaids into town during the christmas party dress/ballgown season, so we got good brand stuff at sensible prices instead of wedding prices :) (and they liked them, so no face pulling about 'bridesmaids dresses :P )

Congratulations. you have got your work cut out! Why don't you call in at the Botanical Gardens for your photos, they are beautiful and more or less en-route to High Bradfield. You may be able to save money getting the help from a wedding planner. Have a chat with Kelly from Boho weddings (I think she is on the forum if not try face book). There is a local firm who hire a double decker bus, if I can find out who I will let you know.
I may be able to do somthing car wise if you are interested in our Bentley Arnage, let me know more about digital installations. We also know some great wedding companies from photographers to master choclatiers for the cake.
Dont forget all the Sheffield wedding venues will be having wedding fayres early next year so you can compare services. Dont panic enjoy the whole process. :)
Good luck.
Simon

Hi Mini Milk. I think I was lucky, my post just managed to stay on the forum but the thread seems to have stopped, are you still desperate for help or are thing starting to come together now? !:-)

Congratulations!
Flora on Ecclesall road (0114 267 0085) did a beautiful job of our wedding flowers and The Bridal House (used to be Diana's) www.thebridalhouse.net are brilliant for making reasonably priced bridesmaid dresses. We got all our wedding shoes there too. I wouldn't recommend Phoenix photographers though. We were a bit disappointed with our photos.
Just remember to enjoy every bit of it - it's so much fun preparing for a wedding and you only do it once. Don't let the stress take that away - it's YOUR day!! Lots of luck xx
Hi
I organised my whole wedding and did it for a fraction of the cost. Had Sheffield Reg office the town hall is beautiful and peace gardens are a fantastic back drop If you still need any help, pm me and let me know.
Good luck
