View Full Version : How much time off are you having over Christmas?
Just being nosy like :)
As well as the two bank holidays I'm taking 8 days annual leave this year, making a whole fortnight off work
I've never had so much time off work at Christmas, I usually only have one or two days, but this year there are two sets of parents to visit plus we are looking forward to some real, peaceful quality time together.
Of course it could all go belly-up and my bloke and I find we can't bear the sight of each other after a few days and I end up coming back to work to escape him.
How long is everyone else having off? Or are you someone who has to work over this period? :(
Working through - 12.5 hour Day shifts Fri, Sat & Sun and 10.5 on the Mon.
Wife & kids not too happy, but thems the breaks.
Treatment 08-12-2009, 10:17 Two weeks of sheer hell away from work; I would come in, but the offices will be closed .:(
I only work 2 days a week so I finish on 22nd December and am not back until 5th January. Yay! :D
I shall be working pretty much the whole way through.
I work from home though, so I shall be donning my Christmas jumper with slippers combo.
Merry Christmas to one and all

I used to quite enjoy coming in over the festive period. The office was quiet and I could work through my files in peace and clear any backlog I might have had. Also I wouldn't get hassled by customers ringing up because no-one ever rings us over Christmas.
Besides - the usual festive TV made work seem like a joy.

Beakerzoid 08-12-2009, 17:25 Well, I've got Christmas Day off....but then it is back to work on Boxing Day for one of the busiest days of the month for us.
millhouses24 08-12-2009, 17:33 Lots :D
Shedloads of paperwork to sort out but no big jobs till next year now. Bring on the snow so I can sit outside and make snowmen all day!
I always used to find long periods of time off a bit tedious after a while when I was working for other people. By the second week of January I'd be bored and champing at the bit to get back to work. I am Truly Sad :( .
Beyond bank holidays, the weekends, a privilege day and some study leave, nil.
Two weeks, chilling and spending time with family & friends :)
I'm finishing at about 4pm on the 17th until 8am on Jan 11th. I'm counting down the days..........
