I thought this might have been asked before but have searched and can't see owt so - does anyone know if it is true that there are many floors underneath the big red brick fire station in town? Somebody once told me it goes down 17 floors - is this true and if so why?

If it's the new one (not the old place on division st) i don't think it goes down 17 floors.
I worked in a building overlooking the site when it was being built and you could see over the wooden fence, although they excavated a fair bit it was no more than you'd see for that size of building.
It went up pretty quickly too.
