I'm trying to decide whether to move to Walkley/Hillsborough to be nearer to the Northern General where I'll be working soon but I'm having trouble finding out what buses if any, go from Hillsborough to the Northern General Hospital.
The 97 looks to but it seems to take forever going via Ecclesfield.
I think the 33 does too - seems a bit more direct.
Just wondering if anyone could advise on whether there are good reliable services between the 2 places and how frequent if so.
Very grateful for any info :)
Oh and where is Hillsborough Interchange?
The number 20 stops bang opposite the Northern General.. But be warned! It goes the LOOOOOOOOOOONG way round.. Over Fox Hill, Parson Cross etc.
AFAIK it's pretty frequent though.

From Hillsborough Interchange to NGH (Herries Road Entrance)the most direct bus is the 20/20a service from September the daytime service Mon to Fri should resume to every 10 minutes.Saturdays is every 15mins.Evening & Sunday is half hourly.

The last time I went Hillsborough/NGH the 97 went Leppings Lane - Halifax Rd - Moonshine Lane - Herries Rd-Main Entrance.
It was a few years since though.

The 33 does NOT go via NGH, IT goes via shirecliffe and into town.
Your best bet is the 20/20a, as already mentioned, and takes around 15mins, as we use the service frequently being an outpatient living close to Hillsboro' park.

It may be the long way round, but it's quicker than going through Ecclesfield like the 97 now does! I would recommend the number 20 (I live just off Herries Road so that and the 33 are my main link to the rest of the world if I'm leaving the car at home).
