Sidla 10-01-2003, 07:00 PM Any Trek fans on here?
Saw the film randomly this afternoon, I didn't have anything better to do so I thought I'd go and see it.
A bit slow to start with, but the action sequences towards the end were excellent. A bit of a twist at the end, but I can't help thinking that it was just a remake of 'The Wrath of Kahn' that featured the crew of the Next Generation.
All in all very good though, not the best, nowhere near as good as First Contact, but still very much worth seeing.
4/5
Anyone else seen/planning on seeing it?
shaun 30-01-2003, 11:02 AM thought it was pants archetypal bad guy although cool suit very pin head matrix new goth look. subject matter CLONING how so today and the ORCS cant forget the orcs. not bad special effects though.
I just thought I'd reactivate the very last thread to amuse myself  Little things, little minds, eh?
This was it. Nothing to say, though.
Trekker 19-08-2004, 02:10 PM Star Trek always repeats on it's self but I love it anyway.
sdb123 19-08-2004, 02:21 PM Edit : Oops, I really should get my eyes checked (though Sidla's was a recent post!)..

You should've saved your money Sid, it was on Sky Movies last night :D
Or don't you have Sky?
And isn't this in the wrong board with it being about a movie? :loopy:
Sidla 19-08-2004, 03:11 PM This topic was started 18 months ago, way before the TV&M forum exsisted. I've moved it now.
Trekker 19-08-2004, 09:49 PM Who on SF would have liked it better if Paramount had decided to take out the Enterprise E and all of her crew instead of just Data?
The end of Nemesis could never realy have led into another film .
Sidla 19-08-2004, 10:59 PM Do you mean it couldn't have done if all the cast had been killed? They blatently could make another sequel with the Next Gen cast now, with B4 having all Data's memories.
Lickable 20-08-2004, 08:57 AM Mr Stewart has thrown in the towel to Star Trek and claims, no amount of money will make him return...

Bah, Patrick Stewart will always be Captain Picard.... He can kiss his career goodbye probably if he hangs up the Starfleet uniform, unless they make more X Men movies for him to be Professor X.
You mean that career that included 27 years with the Royal Shakespear Company eh? :loopy:
He's one of the few film actors with more than one string to his bow... never mind a succesful classical stage career.

No I meant what with a lot of the main cast leaving the show there would be no mass fan intrest in yet another sequel.
Paramount only make films that make money.
I myself would be happy if they went on and on.

They should make movies of the other series' then if the Next Gen movies have run their course.... A DS9 movie would be cool IMO, or a Voyager or even an Enterprise movie.

Well Rich, they was going t be a DS9 movie But if it ever got made I don't know?
Re Enterprise, it seem's unlikely that this show will even make it's exspected tv run so a film is a no no.
alchresearch 20-08-2004, 02:02 PM There were plans to make a DS9 / Voyager movie but I don't think it turned into anything.
Star Trek is a bit of a sore subject at the minute because people haven't taken to 'Enterprise' as much as Paramount thought they would. It was almost cancelled last month.
Sidla 20-08-2004, 04:44 PM They can't really do a DS9 film now, cos Sisco died, Odo went back to live with the Founders and most of the rest of them moved on somewhere else.
Voyager got home and now Janeway's Admiral, so it seems unlikely there will be a Voyager film, although it would be interesting to see what happened after they returned.
Enterprise is just rubbish, I don't even watch it. Besides, surely any Enterprise film would have to be a prequel?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You git! I am watching DS9 from the begining as i missed the last series. You have just ruined it... Thanks a bunch!
Lickable 20-08-2004, 05:54 PM They wrote a DS9 movie, it became the dominion wars.
I think an Enterprise movie would be the savior of the series. They could do one with Next Gen have to go back to stop Enterprise being destroyed so that the federation can still exist and Picard is the one who pushes Archer in the right direction... End of a 'Next gen era' and the introduction to the new regulars in a vast line of Star trek movies...
But... If they did make a new one and it follows the Curse of star Trek movies, the 'bad, good, bad.good' pattern, then it will be pants...
Oh well, one can only hope.
I once thought they could stoop no lower than Star Trek IV: Voyage Home, the one with the Whales.... But then I saw Star Trek: Insurrection and though WTF am I watching here?!
Sidla 21-08-2004, 03:53 PM Insurrection was pants, I saw it at the cinema, but I have not been able to watch it again without falling asleep.
IMO: 1 poor, 2 very good, 3 OK, 4 good, 5 below par, 6 good, 7 very good, 8 outstanding, 9 ****, 10 very good.
alchresearch 22-08-2004, 11:07 PM I thought the storyline for Nemesis was extremely lame. Were we to just forget the last several years of Data and his BROTHER?
Carmine 23-08-2004, 12:54 PM I'm sure that I heard rumours of a Jean Luc Picard cameo for Enterprise; rather that than the sight of James Tiberius Riker strutting around in his trusty toupe and girdle.
A friend of mine is still convinced that the errors in the timeline that have cropped up in the series will be explained away with the whole thing being declared an alternate timeline and erased from the official Star Trek Universe cronology...seems that most people want the same to happen to the whole series.
Trekker 26-08-2004, 08:48 PM OK maybe the should have bin it's end but it sounded good.
Who's up 4 keeping the Trek talk going?
Trek.

I wouldn't worry, since Sisko didn't exactly die. ;)

Well you could always come over to Starfleet operations (http://www.ussintrepid.net/companel/) ;)

Very true, and Picard's 'clone' loked nothing like him.

Come now Captain, from what I'm hearing Intrepid has done good from this site?
capthunter 29-08-2004, 01:21 PM Yep, there's a few Sheffield folks over there alright, but Adrian's always looking for more.
FYI though, the Sheffield group really isn't anything to do with Intrepid. We're just allies, so to speak.
Trekker 29-08-2004, 05:01 PM I've been on Adrians site many times and am thinking of becoming a member.
capthunter 29-08-2004, 05:04 PM He's visiting his Dad in Austrailia just now, but if you drop him a line when you get back I'm sure he'd be happy to have you.
The Sheffield Section of the Starfleet Operations forum is fairly active.
