Try Mann's on Sharrowvale road. They can probably get one if they don't have one. And can I come to help eat it please?

Morrison's fish counter (Halfway) sometimes have an octopus or two. Not sure about other Morrisons stores.

I've had them from castle Market. The fish stalls in there get them quite regularly and you can order them. Ditto Boldocks fishmonger on Woodseats High Street.

I love Octopus I do. I didn't like it the first time as I remembered documentaries showing how clever the things can be but its certainly grown on me since.

On the subject of these creatures, it'd be good if I could get a Blue Ringed Octopus for my neighbours garden pond. The local chavs think its funny to paddle in it and my neighbour is getting a bit irked by it. Drastic I know, but it'd certainly learn 'em. lol

I suspect Boldocks can't get me one though......

Give them a ring - you never know ! - although I suspect that they only deal with deceased fish !

To eat probably; is that such a wild idea?

Well........ I would hazard a guess that someone wanting to buy an entire octopus in Sheffield is PROBABLY quite an unusual request ! Not 'wild' but unusual.

The thought of eating an animal is disgusting, and certainly puts me off my food.

Although I'm a Veggie, one of my friends is actually a Virgin, and so does not touch any dairy products.

I'm sure if you were the octopus, you would like the idea of being eaten.

This thread has put me off my bacon sandwich

no man over the age of 14, apart from slimsid, would ever admit to being a virgin

chuck the octopus on a good fishing line and take it in the river don you may catch a 3 eyed sperm whale or a pike high on rust from a shopping trolley that's been thrown in coz it would not give them there pound back

Octopus is great for Christmas Dinner, no matter how many you've invited, everyone gets a tentacle.

one of my friends is actually a Virgin, and so does not touch any dairy products.

I'm not going to milk this strange comment any further, there've been enough cheesy remarks already.

The chinese supermarket between London Rd and Bramall lane, behind the old Kia showroom, sell prawns as big as lobsters, raw, frozen. Very cheap too. KH Trading.

octopus don't have any tentacles, they have 8 arms - their coleoid cousins the squid have 8 arms and 2 tentacles.

so if everyone wants a tentacle, octopus would be disappointing, and squid would be expensive.

stick with turkey.

sorry to be pedantic.

Morrisons do whole octopus...that's if anyone is still interested in a 2 year old thread. Also for those wondering why anyone would want a whole one....well they aren't as big as the films would have you believe and a single whole pus would be just right for 2 people for a main meal. I do mine with tomato, garlic and spaghetti.
