View Full Version : The Return of Msb - the saga continues

Ooooh what a time I've been having! That thing called 'Real Life' getting in the way of my Forumming so much that my absence from the Forum prompted a wave of PM's and emails and a noteable rise in the use of anxiety drugs in the South Yorkshire area... Now take a deep breath all....relax...Msb is back in the building.

Just for those of you who have the slightest interest in what has been keeping Msb from her computer for the last few months...here is a short resumee (cant do the accent) of the minutae of Msb's exceedingly busy and often stressful lfe...

The water in the cellar is back. Dammit. Just as I thought it safe to pop round to Muddy's to return his pump and once again admire that massive organ, my cellar once again resembles a Roman spa. My neighbour has has Yorkshire Water Man round and he has told her (the git, wait till I see him) that the leak is on MY property hence leaving me to foot the bill for a bit of new piping. More news on this to follow.

I had two Spanish students living at Msb Mansions for the whole of July and had to provide breakfast for 7.30am every morning. This took its toll I can tell you!! Add to that the provision of a packed lunch every day and a cooked meal in the evening and any thoughts of retiring to run a cosy B&B on the coast soon went out of the window as I realised how wearing it was. They went back on Tuesday and the next one for the whole of August arrived the next day! Again - more to follow.

My Lovely Builder has been working hard transforming Msb's grotty dining room into a haven of blue tranquillity.Msb has been helping LB in furniture shifting to facilitate laying of wood flooring with builder who has severe back problems and been advised by doctor and chirpopractor that only thing he snhould be laying is On His Bed. Msb now aches all over from strained joints and muscles.

Dogs still fine though smallest puppy one is still available for adoption and has continued incessant campaign of destruction around house and garden. Older dog seeks refuge with any sympathetic visitors and looks pleadingly at them to take him with them.

Trampoline only being used by older dog in attempts to get over fence into adjoining pub garden and attack evening outdoor drinkers who laugh too loudly and consequently offend him.

Msb working hard at number one place of employment and keeping head down due to being spoken to about use of Forum whilst on a work computer and in work time *hangs head in shame* - this has considerably contributed to the decrease in Msb's post count.

Is it me or is life just darned complicated??? Nice to be back folks!
:D

A warm welcome back, Msb. You have been missed. Hope you get your cellar problem fixed for good soon, so you will have even more time to post regularly on here.

Hi MsB!

I was beginning to worry that you'd got a 'real life' so interesting that the forum had paled into insignificance ;)

And I got sucked into using Virgin products whilst you were 'missing' :suspect:

You know you missed me. Don't try to act all cool and unconcerned on here. I know you PM'd others to enquire as to my whereabouts. You care. I know you do. Admit it or there will be an anonymous lilac scented letter sent to Mrs Owdlad. *evil cackle*

my sister spent a hell of a lot of time in a damp house....IN WOODSEATS.... turned out it was something to do with a spring being capped off and redirecting into her property...so not only cellar but living room, dining room and kitchen were wet thru...you couldnt even walk without your feet getting soaked.

she sold it in the summertime :)

Is surviving quite well at Msb Mansions despite mad dogs, squawking bird, noisy friends till early hours and builder laying flooring around her. Smiles a lot and is generally nice to have around. Took her for a walk on Froggat Edge yesterday evening and she was suitable impressed - quite like the view from up there myself actually!

nah - wasn't me. this house isn't DAMP, it's a positive recreation of the old Millhouses lido and attracts kids from all over Sheffield on a sunny weekend to come and paddle. Now if only I could get the darn freezer working again I could sell ice pops and screw balls and make a mint....:hihi:

What with guided walking tours in the nearby internationally renouned contryside, not to mention the small zoo on site!,
