My washing machine has stopped draining all of the water out of the drum when it finishes the cycle.
I've tried two or three washes in it over the weekend and they've all comeo out sopping wet. Even sticking the load on for a spin & drain after doesn't seem to get rid of much water, so the clothes are coming out far too wet for the tumble drier.
The drum isn't full of water though, and it still releases the door lock properly.
ARGH!
I know close to nothing about these but don't want to get involved in some plumber/repair/letting-currys-spank-me-for-a-new-one scenario.
Is it just blocked in some way that I can fix?

same thing happened to mine. it's a blockage in the drainage pipe more than likely, if it happens again set the programme to 'drain' before you open the door that should work, then if you feel confident enough disconnect the machine, tip it on its back and there should be a flexible plastic pipe underneath, unbolt that and clean it out in the sink. mine was full of lint and doghair, yuk and it's been fine ever since

actually after reading your post mine was slightly different. It was still full of water after the cycle had finished. i opened the door and got wet feet (soaked)

I wrote a reply to this, but it's obvioulsy gone missing somewhere in the internets.
I'll try running it a couple of times on hot wash to see if that clears any sort of blockage, if that doesn't work I'll spend some time undoing tubes and trays etc.
Cheers!

Sounds like it could be a blocked filter - locate it, put loads of old towels under the washer to catch any water leaving the machine when you take out the filter. Clear the filter of general crudd, replace it and try the machine again.
Has worked for me.

Blockages are often cleared by pressure from the direction opposite to the flow that is being blocked.
Maybe you could try sticking a hosepipe up where the water is supposed to come out
Warning: You could end up getting very wet trying this, probably best to do it naked.

You've not accidentally pressed in the "rinse and hold" button have you?

Blimey, good job it's not near a window! Thanks, I'll give it a blast.

I don't think it does rinse and hold seperately. It's a fairly basic rotate-dial-to-select-programme thing. It had clicked through to the drain programme from the spin cycle.

sorry - i know nowt about washers, but i'd get it seen to if i were you before you end up buggering about and flooding the kitchen floor (new tiles) like i did.
good luck
My washing machine (well the OH's really :hihi: ) has just suffered the same problem. I checked the filter and it was remarkably clear of any debris. Not having much of a clue how anything on a washing machine works I reluctantly called for outside help this morning from A1 Domestics (Andy). He was in the area and came round less than an hour after I called him. Once he'd fished a battered 10p piece (that thought it had a new job as a valve) from a pipe underneath all was well again. I found him on this forum and he posts under A1.Domestics funnily enough. Tel no 07846 121916 - thoroughly recommended.
