I've also been dj-ing about 5 years, how easy is it to get on the scene up here?? do mainly 4/4 garage, old skool and speed garage too...

i'm movin up to sheffield in three weeks - looking for a nice 2bedroomed house with my brother

were quite into partying :cool: what are the bars and clubs like!!! and the ladies of course!

also what are the best areas and easiest for sheffield hallam and not a taxi ride home if you know what I mean!!!

if you want to go to a garage/house night, check out the niche, but just mind that there has been a history of problems in the past, so as far as i know, you have to keep your wits about you but apparently the music is great.

For more funky house, check out the pin-up club at The Room on a Friday night. Scuba at the same place is on Saturday although the music is slightly more variable and a bit more edgy than pin-up club.

best area around Hallam is probably at Hunters Bar (which is about a 10 minute walk away). it is a very busy student area.

Alternatively Broomhill, Crookes, Ranmoor, Crosspool, Walkley are all about a 15-30 minuted walk up the hill from there and are good lively areas.

Where r u moving from? be easier to assess the potential value of Sheffield nightlife for you (copmpared to what u r used to) if we know the area from which you originate, ie a small fishing village in Devon, or downtown London or something......

Unfortunetaly Sheffield isn't the clubbing mecca it was a few years ago.

Having said that there are still some good nights around.

I can recommend Hustle @ .zero every third saturday in the month (sometimes more often) if you like soulfull house. Excellent crowd there too.

moving from dover in kent

the nightlife here is potentially the worst but I normally travel out to neighbouring towns etc.

the speed garage night sounds more up my street, and the soulful house.....
