Does anyone know of any restaurants still having the old fashioned sweet trolley ?? And with proper single cream to pour over & not that squirty crap!!
All the sweets nowadays seem to be all factory produced .

Ahhhh i used to love going to the Regency in Ecclesfield and browsing the sweet trolley. Whitley Hall at Ecclesfield used to do it too.

I think Dore Grill have had to stop using the sweet trolley as it wasn't refridgerated. It wasn't in evidence last time I went a couple of years ago now.

Try Hassop Hall, cheap it certainly is not. Fabulous quality in a picturesque setting.

Try Burton's Restaurant at the Burton Street Foundation, Hillsborough. Unusual venue (old School) and only once a month but spectacular dessert trolley, all homemade by a pastry chef, nothing artificial at all! The chefs are Mathew Rodgers and Scott Drury, also of Wortley Hall. Next one is this Friday 4 December. http://www.burtonstreet.co.uk/Pages/whatson.htm

Unless you are bezzie mates with Dr who not sure your going to find one. Sweets sat warming up in a cosy little restaurant are a food poisoning time bomb.

Me, too. But I used to disconcert the waiters by asking to see the sweet trolley before I ordered my meal!!! Pudding is my favourite course and I needed to know what was available so I could order an appropriate main course! :hihi:

:D Is it a sorbet?

Not quite a restaurant but they do come round with the trolley at Bettys in York, don't recall the Harrogate one doing that though.
