If i cant get yousif someone locally, might have to beg from oversees LOL. Hopefully Willis wont be injured this time , but i have a sneaking suspicion that Robin is going to be busy with Basketball this season. He is 6'4" and still growing, wait till he his in his mid 20's . We are looking at another natural superheavyweight. Shane Beard is by far the best kicker of all the SDF fighters. Both those guys have a large following too and are as well liked as Scot and Alex. Whoever told you they are not as good as the other two has got their wires crossed. s29s 14-12-2009, 23:46 yes i have seen joe and your right he is like a skyscrapper and hes defo going to be a big lad as isnt he only just 18? shane as got good legs and i said it was my opinion about alex and scott so i havent got my wires crossed, ive seen shane fight but wasnt impressed with his hands but your right his legs are good, in my opinion tho alex and scott are the better allround fighters, always put a good show on and are good with hands, knees and leg kicks. Yousif Ibrahim = Flyweight sensation who has proved himself time and time again. Adam Hadfield the Barnsley super kicker who has stopped a few guys with low kicks! Ant "Superman" Stuchbury AFK's famous KO specialist whose kicks hurt the pad holders arms through the kicks!!! ( I know i have to hold pads for him!!!) Come along and spar with him if you have the guts. Which I very much doubt as you have to post under a pseudonym without revealing anything about your true identity. He is possibly a step behind the likes of Shane Beard and Joe McGovan at present but still head and shoulders above ANY other sheffield based kickboxer at that weight. Give me a list of names of Sheffield based kickboxers between 75 and 80kg at say local level and I can tell you who is a match for him and who would not stand a chance. Clearly you are not one with a great deal of knowledge so it does not matter if you have "heard of " his gym or not. The fact of the matter is that Jamie Sheppard has been avoided countless times. Interesting statement. Should that not say "your coaches do not like AFK" ? I have very little problem with Sheffield Academy apart from the fact that it tends to attract a lot of idiots. There are a few decent people at Sheffield Academy (I do stress a FEW) but I have mostly come across the idiots to be honest. If you see how AFK people conduct themselves, how often do you see our students/fighters causing trouble downtown or getting invovled with gangs etc? As a whole I dont have a problem with everyone in Sheffield Academy. Adam Lawrence has been down to train and spar a few times. We give a warm welcome towards everyone regardless of where they come from. The only stipulation we have is leave your attitude or ego at the door. Staunch 07-01-2010, 10:48 Interesting statement. Henrietta 24-01-2010, 12:45 You never really know just how it's going to pan out when that bell goes so the idea of theorising and guessing results is practically redundant chefkicker 24-01-2010, 15:51 You never really know just how it's going to pan out when that bell goes so the idea of theorising and guessing results is practically redundant You are both correct and totally wrong simultaneously. When that bell you dont know what is going to happen, correct! Now with regards to theorising and guessing results as such we rely upon subjective estimates. Matchmakers match bouts as fair as possible based on previous fight records (as well as weight) and also based upon if they think it will make for a good match. Logic dictates that Peter Buckley is not matched with Manny Pacquaio (spelling?) due to a large margin in terms of difference in ability. Guessing results is perhaps a little premature, theorising happens in pretty much all sports where the result depends upon an aggregate of circumstances and attributes of both participants. Yousif and this young warrior clashed twice. For the Storm Force title fight, Sam weighed in almost 5 kg more than Yousif and had a dangerous left hook. Sam rocked Yousif with punches in their first battle which caused the referee to give Yousif an 8 count. Yousif felt physically sick and had a headache after that fight!!! Easy fight? Ask Yousif. Ben Fahey ? Yousif gave away something like 4 and half kilo Put Yousif down in the first round , Yousif then got up and put HIM down in the first round for his trouble. :hihi: The fight was a draw. Easy match? NO WAY!!! Yousif also stepped up at short notice to face an opponent from Lincoln. His opponent weighed in at a whole 7kg more than Yousif !!! I remember one sheffield fighter crying about 4kg on a LIGHT continuous (yes a LIGHT contact bout !!! ) bout at Showdown 3. Yousif admittedly did stop that fighter and then went on to do a Demo match with a 67kg 26 year old Black belt on the undercard of Oxford Vs Cambridge university challenge. Easy fight? No I dont think so! Yousif fought against a Thaiboxer called Fezan in Manchester as a junior. I distinctly remember us all laughing at him as he was in pain from Fezans leg kicks. I get annoyed that these sort of events are always delayed and then the first fight is always two little chabbies (lets be honest, apart from the immediate families nobody cares). 2) Long interval in the middle of the show - personally I think it shouldn't be longer than 5 mins. Overall, great night, a great success and I will definaltey go to the next one. well done to all the fighters, takes great courage to step into a ring. chefkicker 28-02-2010, 21:41 well put together show - great set up. great fights great venue (i loved the fact there was a ton of space so you can avoid the drunks) Only two negatives: 1) show should have started at 7pm but didn't kick off until 7:20pm. More interest will be from my club with more fighters wanting to fight on your shows. Keep up the good work. Your students did well once again!!!! Twice in a row and not a single defeat for Brian Aikens world of MMA!!! Just make sure your guys are ready to go again in 2 months time. :D superstuch 02-03-2010, 10:35 THe original guy I was suppose to fight pulled out due to injury which is fair dues but the guy who was a stand did not turn up nor would answer is mobile sammy1ball 02-03-2010, 16:20 Ant how come you and another guy were in the ring later on with the belt.I could hear a bloke talking but could not make out what he was saying (crap p.a system) sammy1ball 02-03-2010, 16:22 What happen to the Shane Beard fight superstuch 02-03-2010, 17:08 WAS because I was given the belt out right by default had two guys pull out in one week its not the way I wanted the belt but they insisted ill just defend it when ever I need to still ready to fight now sammy1ball 03-03-2010, 04:47 WAS because I was given the belt out right by default had two guys pull out in one week its not the way I wanted the belt but they insisted ill just defend it when ever I need to still ready to fight now I hear Shane beard offered to fight you on the night. Why didnt you fight him then you might of been able to wear your belt with pride instead of default ? lotar 03-03-2010, 06:48 I don,t think it appropriate to offer to fight anyone on the nite... your on a win .win. situation, if you win its all good, if you lose.. "well I took the fight on 2 hours notice," so I think Ant made the right decision. Its not his fault anyway... Craig. superstuch 03-03-2010, 08:19 Thanks for that Craig appreciate that. Anyways shane did not offer me a fight on the night my coaches ask if I wanted to shane was not approached at the time if shane wants me to defend it against him I will but with notice I was let down twice and very disappointed Superwoman 03-03-2010, 21:43 I hear Shane beard offered to fight you on the night. Why didnt you fight him then you might of been able to wear your belt with pride instead of default ? Ant is wat i like to call a "smart fighter" not just a crowd pleaser. He does what is right for him. He had 2 people pull out on him, the first couldnt be helped due to health problems, the second couldnt even be arsed to turn up NOT ANTS FAULT ..... Ant was guttered as he trained his arse off for the last 8 week ......... he made the right decision for him and will gladly fight shane beard for the belt, but in the "proper" way, not with a few hours notice. Ant respects SDF, so no doubt they will end up having the fight ...... but no one has the right to say he should have fought shane the other night and wear his belt with pride. He can wear it with pride, he turned up ready to fight , and was let down ....... think bout it lotar 04-03-2010, 06:47 Looking forward to the May show... our lads are training hard as ever for it.. cummmmmonnn. It has not been planned for the near future. It most likely will not happen in May but is a possibility for later on in the year or even next year. Why chase the match when they currently fight in different weight divisions anyway. It is up to trainers, managers and promoters to decide WHEN matches like this take place. Once again Superwoman made this clear in her post and Lotar fully understands the situation. I mean who cares what some anonymous troll on a forum thinks? :hihi: crimewave 04-03-2010, 11:32 any videos up yet chefkicker 04-03-2010, 14:31 any videos up yet No but plenty of pics on www.fightnightsonline.com Carcass 04-03-2010, 14:42 Was another great show, thanks for a good night out Farhad! Becky was incredibly wild in that fight!!! sammy1ball 06-03-2010, 11:20 Becky was incredibly wild in that fight!!! Easy fight then what do you expect from afk superstuch 06-03-2010, 12:09 Sammy1ball what is you problem with afk? If you have a problem with farhad then that's between you and him but don't take it out on the fighters we get in there and do what we do just like every one else just leave the fighters be chefkicker 06-03-2010, 13:27 Easy fight then what do you expect from afk Becky is a novice and she fought a novice. She happened to win as well , so im afraid I cant help you much more on that won. Next you will be saying that Gaz had an easy fight because he won too??? :loopy: Oh Gaz (yet another novice ) was not actually meant to fight he just stepped up with 2 days notice so as to fill a space in the card so as not to let someone down who had trained really hard for it. I guess Gaz winning must mean an easy fight as well? Well he did win every round with a knockdown in the last round if that makes Sammy No balls feel any better. sammy1ball 07-03-2010, 01:56 Sammy1bollack what is you problem with afk? If you have a problem with farhad then that's between you and him but don't take it out on the fighters we get in there and do what we do just like every one else just leave the fighters be Could you tell us Mr Superstuch what right you have to the belt when there are far better fighters out there WHO HAVE YOU FOUGHT superstuch 07-03-2010, 11:18 yes your right i have no rights to the belt SiSiSi 07-03-2010, 11:48 Spoilsport! There was potential for a good old slanging match there!:hihi: superstuch 07-03-2010, 12:46 Why would I argue with that SiSiSi 07-03-2010, 12:58 Cos he's a d-head! You could have had lots of fun with him! superstuch 07-03-2010, 13:07 No point can't be botherd with him or her don't like the fact I got offered a title as if I'm gonna say no there are plenty of better fighters at a higher standard than northern area ie shane bearded he's British standard primero 07-03-2010, 13:15 what an excellent show been to a lot of boxing/kick/thai shows in the last few years and this one ranks up there amongst the best ones........... well done to the fighters and promoters superstuch 07-03-2010, 13:21 Was a fantastic show really well put together his best one so far nice one for giving the fighters a well done shame other people can't just do that beachec 07-03-2010, 21:46 Ant you wont be the first or the last to pick up a belt this way it happens !! , Putting the disappointment aside you should be happy that you have got the belt, and are not walking about with Bruised shins and Ribs for the next week or so. So turn the negative (8 weeks training and the other fighter not turning up) to a positive (continuous 16 weeks or more training) and show the next challenger you take on, what you have got. All the best. Craig. superstuch 07-03-2010, 22:57 Thanks for the positive post Craig had nothing but this guy try to bring me down I'm still in training and will be equiped for my defence can't wait for it think I'm fighting Chris robbinson be really hard fight but that is what i need got a lot to prove had a bad start in my first two fights so got a few doubters and again thanks for the support mate toreador 08-03-2010, 10:33 Thanks for the positive post Craig had nothing but this guy try to bring me down I'm still in training and will be equiped for my defence can't wait for it think I'm fighting Chris robbinson be really hard fight but that is what i need got a lot to prove had a bad start in my first two fights so got a few doubters and again thanks for the support mate Bravo Ant. I dont know why this sammy whatever his name is is trying to have a go at Ant. Ant is one of the hardest kickers in the gym his kick power is 2nd only to Farhads and everyone knows that he really can kick. I must admit i was gutted that AFK's 2 most exciting fighters Ant and Yousif werent on the show this time but seeing Bex and Gaz really was an inspiration specially as Gaz has come straight from beginners class and only been training in the more extrerme class for a few months. wufu 08-03-2010, 17:50 sammy , easy fights from AFK? Beccys a novice and she fought a novice , she was just a lot stronger on the night. Ant , of course he didn't want the belt in those circumstances , who would? , he sold a lot of tickets to friends and family, so it wasn't only him who were let down on the night by the no show. and Gaz , well im a mate of Gaz , and a few nights before he was offered to face Chris who was prepared for a fight. Gaz at first wanted a demo bout with Chris and was worried as he didn't know anything about Chris and is only a novice with 1 interclub and a few sparring sessions in class. But he thought sod it and took the fight and he again like Beccy just happened to be stronger on the night. chefkicker 11-03-2010, 09:28 RESULTS : 1:: ORIENTAL RULES LIGHTWEIGHT CONTEST 60Kg 3x2 MINS DANIEL FRANCE [THANAPRON ROTHERHAM] V SEAN WESTON [SDF SHEFFIELD] WINNER ,DEC 2:: MMA WELTERWEIGHT BOUT 3x3 MINS DAVID SPOUT [UMA YORK] V JACOB CONSTANTINOU [BRIAN AIKENS WOMA] WINNER DEC 3:: ***** ISKA NORTHERN AREA KICKBOXING TITLE ***** 81.4 KG 5x2 MINS NICKY JAMES GRUNDY [KOMBAT SPORTS] V ANT Superman STUCHBURY [AFK SHEFFIELD] CHAMPION = ANT STUCHBURY , WINNER BY DEFAULT NICKY JAMES GRUNDY Failed to show. 4:: SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT KICKBOXING CONTEST 76Kg 3x2 MINS STEPHEN ALLEN [KERIS GYM NEWCASTLE] V PAUL VICKERS [SDF SHEFFIELD] WINNER KO ROUND 1 , . 5:: LADIES FLYWEIGHT KICKBOXING CONTEST 51Kg 3x1.5 MINS JO CLEMES [KERIS GYM NEWCASTLE] V BECKY BAD-ASS USHER [AFK SHEFFIELD] , WINNER DEC 6:: MMA MIDDLEWEIGHT BOUT 80Kg 3x3 MINS LOUIS SCOTT [BLACKBURN MMA] V BARRY WOOD [BRIAN AIKENS WORLD OF MARTIAL ARTS] ,WINNER DEC 7:: CRUISERWEIGHT KICKBOXING CONTEST 83Kg 3x1.5 MINS CHRIS DUNNINGS [YORK BROTHERHOOD] V GARETH OLDALE [AFK SHEFFIELD] , WINNER DEC . 8:: ORIENTAL RULES WELTERWEIGHT CONTEST 67Kg 3x3 MINS MARK BEAUMONT [FIGHT UNIT BARNSLEY] V MARCO PORTALURI [KAPAP SHEFFIELD] DRAW 9:: ***** ISKA BRITISH TITLE FIGHT ***** 81KG 5x2 MINS CRAIG KENDALL [RED DRAGON WALES] V JOE McGOVAN [SDF SHEFFIELD] , WINNER KO ROUND 1 (KNEE to the body) 10 :: MMA MIDDLEWEIGHT 84Kg 3x3 MINS BASHDAIR HUSSAIN [BLACKBURN MMA] V JOSH MOORE [BRIAN AIKENS WOMA] DRAW . 11:: ORIENTAL RULES SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT 78KG 3x2 MINS RICH TAYLOR [YORK BROTHERHOOD] V PAUL REDFERN [ROKARD ALFRETON] , WINNER , DEC 12:: ORIENTAL RULES CRUISERWEIGHT 83Kg 3x2 MINS SIMON POWELL [GAINSBROUGH MMA] , WINNER TKO (Corner retires other fighter) V SIMON HERBERT [SDF SHEFFIELD] . 13:: ***** ISKA ENGLISH TITLE ***** 81.4Kg 5x2 MINS THE CHAMPION - GRANT HOWE [JJs KICKBOXING] V THE CHALLENGER - ADAM HADFIELD [FIGHT UNIT BARNSLEY] GRANT HOWE Retains the title.
