anybody hear a strange jet-like sound on saturday night in broomhill? I was outside the Fox and Duck about 10pm, and heard what sounded like a slow jet fly over really low, although it didn't sound like jets i've heard in the past.

Apologies for the noise that was me i was trying to find a parking space for my Harrier Jump Jet as i was meeting friends at the Fox and Duck for a drink. However upon returning to my jet it had vanished so please keep eyes peeled for any suspicious low flying jets acting out of character.

There was a jet flying over this area the other night about 10, I was sat outside havving a ciggy about 10pm and it came over, gave me the fright of my life I can tell you:shocked: . It did make a very odd noise like a sort of sucky whooshy noise and at one point I thought it was comming down , Mr H.p was not impressed when I nearly ran through the closed patio door :hihi: watched it fly towards stocksbridge area but I couldnt make out what sort it was.

edgez,

you can park your harrier on top of somerfield. Just remember to get a parking ticket. 50p an hour.

definitely wasn't the cop chopper. that jet sounds more promising. I just didn't think they were allowed to fly at night over cities though

Yeah I as heard it as well, I think it was a war plane but definately not the Cop Chopper, that seems to be here in Broomers every day. :D

Mr Maloney, i think that you may find that a harrier is a little bigger that your average car and i would probably need a few tickets possibly reaching the £2.50 mark, but thanks fot the advice i will drop it there next time i visit broomhill.

If you're quick enough, you should be able to park your Harrier for free on Summerfield, dash into wherever for your shopping and come out before the warden has found his step ladder to see if there's a ticket in the windscreen.

Why worry about putting a ticket on the Harrier?

What are they going to do? Wheelclamp him?

"could be the space shuttle, trying to get back in.After all theve had load of problems with it."

:D :D actualy, 80% less "damage" compared to other flights, and a "by the book" mission so far,
don't belive the over hyped media on all the emergancy headlines :loopy:
i was in florida back in 84 and saw 2 launches and the 1 landing and the sonic booms on landing were awsome,

id go with the jet explanation,
JJ.. ;)
