Destined to be a comedy classic :D
Is anyone else watching this?
Miranda is desperate to fit in, but her public school background makes her a bit of a misfit down the pub and she's never quite fitted in with Sloane Ranger childhood rival Tilly (Sally Phillips) or the rest of 'the girls' (not least because she's a foot taller than them all).

Due to years of agoraphobic tendencies she can't quite grasp how to behave socially and constantly fails to avoid embarrassing situations, especially around men.?

A constant disappointment to her mother Penny (Patricia Hodge), and lacking any real capacity or interest for business, Miranda employs her childhood friend Stevie (Sarah Hadland) to manage her joke shop.

It doesn't matter what Miranda attempts in life – dating, joining the gym, job interviews or simply dealing with her overbearing mother – she always seems to fall flat, quite literally, and is incapable of leaving a room without knocking something over.

Miranda comments: "Since I can remember I have wanted to be a comedian and so to have my own show on the BBC is a total thrill, albeit slightly unnerving! To have actors like Patricia Hodge and Sally Philips interested in my writing, let alone agreeing to do the job, is a real honour.

"Comedy is such an important part of my life, if I hadn't had people like French and Saunders, Morecambe and Wise and Joyce Grenfell to watch, my life would have been a much duller place and so to be a part of this wonderful industry is a real blessing – I can't believe my luck."

Guest stars include Peter Davison as Miranda's old French teacher, Adrian Scarborough (Gavin And Stacey), Luke Pasquilino (Skins), Alex Macqueen (The Thick Of It) and Katy Wix (Not Going Out).

I saw about 5 minutes last night, thought it was absolute garbage. That woman just doesn't make me laugh, sorry.

It's fantastic!

A refreshingly different angle to comedy.

I've got her down as a kind of English Bridget Jones.

Ditto. Never saw the attraction in ugly, fat, clumsy women (i.e. Bridget Jones), but it seems Miranada is the latest TV 'darling' (like the seriously unfunny Gavin & Tracey).

I've caught the last 5-10 minutes of it a couple of times. Vaguely amusing but terribly unoriginal

Not sure it works as a TV series. It's still got a very radio comedy feel to it.

Still it's better than any other recent comedy I can think of.

I love it!

She is just so totally socially inept, and does such silly things to try and cover it up.

Loved the bit in this week's episode when her and her mum burst into song at the interview. :hihi:

Utterly dreadful show that's only been made because the lead has got a few influential pals high up at the BBC (just like that "Beautiful People" rubbish that's also on BBC2).

I caught the end of the last show and it just consisted of 5 minutes of the cast pretending to play invisible musical instruments and pulling funny faces at the camera. I've passed funnier kidney stones.

First two words of the above post sum it up for me utterly dreadful.

I have to admit I like it.

Probably because she reminds me a little of me, except I'm much shorter.....

I quite like it, although as Funky Gibbon suggests, it's very similar to the radio series.

It's old fashioned entertainment - I love the 'You have been watching' style credits.

to me it seems almost desperate for the audience to enjoy it and laugh - which I find really unfunny

I love it, some bits aren't funny but others are brilliant, laugh out loud funny.

My parents seem to think it is about me and so find it hysterical just for that reason, bit of harmless fun.

No it was lame. I watch the old comedies like porridge, things like Miranda and Mighty Boosh are too daft to laugh at.

It made me wait an extra half an hour for Match of the Day 2, so I wasn't happy. And it wasn't in the slightest bit funny.

There are a few visual jokes which have been added, but it's essentially the radio show, which wasn't too bad.

Yes I think it's great. I think Miranda Hart is brilliant and very funny. She has been a guest on Strictlys It Take Two and she is very funny. Other day they had Miranda, Katy Brand and Craig Revill-Horwood and they were hilarious together. They seemed to bounce off each other. Very entertaining

I watched this a few times. First time i watched it, i was in stitches. Then realised she is just like my Mrs with her funny wit. My Mrs has now started to watch it and i can hear her howling with laughter. ( laughing at herself!! )

Wasn't impressed the first time I watched it, maybe I just didn't get it but it has grown on me - a little

It's refreshing to see someone new as most TV stars seem to be recycled

I really like this - and I saw Miranda on Ruth Jones Christmas Cracker yesterday which was hillarious, she was stalking Will Young and then her and Ruth ended up fighting over his effections, Miranda ADAMENT that there was chemistry between them.

It took me a couple of episodes to get into it but I absolutely love it. I loved her in Lee Mack's "Not Going Out" so was chuffed to bits that she got her own series.

On radio you miss the whole point of the show, "big clown"!

Personally, I remember more unpredictable episodes of Sharky and George.

I hated it the first time I saw it but the OH keeps watching it and I end up sitting through it.

I'm a bit more clued in with the characters now and it's easy to watch, but it's still not funny.

Me too. I think this programme is.....SUCH FUN, get it, such fun such fun such fun! I stumbled across the second series & now I heart Kong & Co.

I find it hilarious when her Mother mouths certain words & then gets it wrong...bare with bare with bare with......love it!

Tilly with her hi-di-ho peeps & Miranda's Mum replying *fake smiles fake smiles*............Stevie -- with her brilliant Heather Small impersonation & the are we, are we! :hihi:

Miranda is comedy at its best--saucy!

Absolute lowest-common-denominator tripe.

It reminds me of the spoof, "When the Whistle Blows" from Extras, which was supposed to be awful.

I urge the people that like this rubbish to watch some real, critically-acclaimed comedy such as Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, or the fantastic Arrested Development.

I know everyone's entitled to their opinion, but this is the closest I've come to saying, "You're wrong.".

Awful show its really hard to bare it longer than 10 minutes.

Although I doubt it will go away because its probably got just enough ratings for it to do well much like Gavin & Stacey.

I've managed to see 2 of the series. Miranda and Patricia Hodge (as her mother) are hilarious.

There are a few occasions when I regret not having a t.v. Not being able to see the whole Miranda series is one of them.

Miranda is a comic genius. Simply brilliant!
