Folks,
Just a quickie to announce the first OPEN MEETING for planning the STEEL CITY G. A. L. A. (Sheffield Gay And Lesbian Arts Festival) for May 2010.
This meeting is essential, as it will cover all matters regarding taking the festival forward from its modest success with half a dozen events this past year, to become a fully-fledged recognised showcase of the finest that gay artists of all kinds fromt he local and further afield can offer for the enjoyment of the city as a whole.
Issues of particular importance to be covered include:
1.) Applying for Funding
2.) Liaising with interested venues (Theatres, Galleries, etc.)
3.) getting local artists and arts bodies on board.
Anyone who is involved with the three above categories is particularly welcome, even if they are not gay/lesbian themselves, as the Festival is intended to engage the LGBT element actively with the wider community from an early stage.
For further info phone/text Dan on 0789-647-4243.
Alternatively, but only if it is really important, email me at dan@alacroart.com or PM me on the Forum; both these methods of mailing have problems, as my inboxes get full very quickly/and or break down.
