Novembers AGM theme will be the continued community use of the Wisewood School site after the possible closure of the school in 2011, it will feature a presentation from Paul Bridges from the Development Trust Association about other communities that have seen old school sites being developed for community purposes. Nick Waterfield of Hillsborough Forum said: “The decision to close this school has been a blow to many people in Wisewood and the area, but it is now important to make sure that the site is still used to provide a community focus for the area. We’ve been working with Wisewood Community Sports Centre and others to start thinking about how we can secure the site for community use, and how it can still remain an important community asset for this neighbourhood.” He continued, “Councillors have previously said that the site should be kept for community use, but we want to make sure that the ideas for those new uses are developed and supported by local people.”

Yes coz once again hillsborough forum try to jump on the bandwagon !

they have not contacted the local community groups in the area , those that have worked on this and put time and effort in !

They seem to have rushed in !! in my opinion they have there own agenda:(
And they are not welcome at all:mad:

I will contact the main ones who have been working on this and in the wisewood community .

But, there is a much higher chance of a positive outcome, the more people that are on the case.

Enough with the arguing please. The concept that nobody can announce an AGM because we closed a thread about one topic that will be discussed at the meeting is ridiculous.

I posted the thread last night to remind people about the meeting. The last thing HF would want to be accused of is not letting people know that a public meeting was taking place, especially given the topic.

It was very well attended and a very positive discussion was had by those community members who were there. Minutes of the meeting no doubt will be made available soon.

Mods please feel free to close the thread now the meeting has happened.
