Hi, it's about time you dragged yourself out of bed and did a walk, I'm too far away for you to shout at me.

Yeah no probs, be nice to see you again. As some of us are new to the place, perhaps you can give us a guided tour?

PS I often hear people mention a discussion thread but would like to know where to find it on the walks page...people might be talking about me....or I might just be paranoid........or they may actually be talking about me......

Sorry JB, but there's no such thing as a discussion thread. We had a discussion meeting last week which there was a thread for, which obviously you've missed, and no plans for another until into the New Year I'm afraid. There are also the various socials that we have, where all matters walking related are discussed, if you fancy coming to one of them.
Apart from discussing yourself, if there's anything in particular that you'd like to discuss, feel free to pm me :)

Due to the forecast for heavy rain we have decided to cancel the walk to Roche Abbey. Instead, there will be a short walk along the Norfolk Park Trail of 2/3 miles, followed by lunch somewhere. Included on this walk are the Cholera monument, the Chocolate Factory, and the Shrewsbury Hospital Trust Almshouses. Obviously, if the weather is really bad, this walk can be cut short, and we can head off to the pub!
Could the people who posted originally on this thread that they were going to Roche Abbey please post again so we know who is coming on the alternative walk. meeting point is the Drive-thru Mcdonalds on Farm Road S2 2TP (free parking on Farm Road) at 11.30

Yep, we're still coming. Trying to print off the leaflet for the heritage trail, but can't open it for some reason. Can anyone else open it & send it to me so I can laminate it & have a proper history guide? :D

Sent it!
However, if you look at it you'll see that the actual Trail is a linear walk as opposed to the round walk that I've got in my head, the one we did one night last summer. If you can print it off that'll be fine, but if you can't I've got it on that Walk Sheffield leaflet.

Well, what a lovely day we had today, doing part of the Norfolk Park Trail, having a sumptious lunch at the cafe at the Heritage Centre, and then following it up with a visit to see Zippy at the Workstation, and looking for maps at the Millenium galleries. Everything else was fine, but didn't reckon much to the maps.

Really enjoyed today, apart from the torrential rain at the very begining. We had a fantastic lunch & then spent the afternoon being cultural, mooching round a craft fair & then the Millenium Galleries. Made for a very nice pleasant day. Thanks to everyone for the great company as usual:)

An enjoyable stroll was had by all. The chocolate cake from Norfolk Park cafe nearly finished me off, serves me right really as I didn't need it....but it was very yummy !

Lunch was lovely, as was the company. Still can't eat anything. Found Mr T a frozen chicken curry, he loved it. Thinks he has been spoiled, but he didn't see what I had :hihi:

Thoroughly enjoyed today, a lovely leisurely stroll round part of the Norfolk Park Trail including a lovely lunch in the cafe; oh that chocolate cake was gorgeous:thumbsup:.

Then enjoyed looking round the craft candy fair in the workstation and seeing Zippy's surprise:o when we all walked in, I could have spent a fair amount of money in there if I had any spare. It was also nice to finally have the time to look round the Millenium Galleries, at all the exhibits:D.

Even got some christmas shopping done afterwards.

All in all a great Sunday.
