Yeah no probs, be nice to see you again. As some of us are new to the place, perhaps you can give us a guided tour?
Ha ha, you know me, the shy retiring one at the back :hihi:. I'm happy to rediscover it with everyone else.
Agent Orange 22-11-2009, 22:00 I might come along, providing I have nothing better to do ;) Seriously, if I am free then I will attend. I will confirm at end of week. A lift would be mega if anyone is coming via Hillsborough :)
Tiddlywink 23-11-2009, 09:25 I'll be there. Can I have a lift please Mr VO?

Sorry JB, but there's no such thing as a discussion thread. We had a discussion meeting last week which there was a thread for, which obviously you've missed, and no plans for another until into the New Year I'm afraid. There are also the various socials that we have, where all matters walking related are discussed, if you fancy coming to one of them.
Apart from discussing yourself, if there's anything in particular that you'd like to discuss, feel free to pm me :)
Bright side 23-11-2009, 16:42 Hoping to get to this one as its years since I went to Roche Abbey. Will confirm at end of week.
Village Owl 23-11-2009, 18:20 I'll be there. Can I have a lift please Mr VO?
Of course you can, the same pick up place as last time. I'll text you a time later this week once I've worked it out.
We won't be able to make it this weekend
mrpedantic 24-11-2009, 20:47 I'll be along for this one.
Just bumping this thread up a bit cos it's gone very quiet.
Walk is still on, all we need to do is to wrap up well I think!
See y'all tomorrow!
Tiddlywink 28-11-2009, 10:19 I'd still like to come if anyone can offer me a lift from town please
Village Owl 28-11-2009, 12:16 I'd still like to come if anyone can offer me a lift from town please Thought we"d arranged that I could pick up on Granville Road at half nine. Let me know.
I'll be along tomorrow with Anne_d
Bright side 28-11-2009, 20:59 HI all. Am going to dip out on this one. Sorry would've liked to see Roche Abbey again but have other plans. Have a good day. See you all soon.
Due to the forecast for heavy rain we have decided to cancel the walk to Roche Abbey. Instead, there will be a short walk along the Norfolk Park Trail of 2/3 miles, followed by lunch somewhere. Included on this walk are the Cholera monument, the Chocolate Factory, and the Shrewsbury Hospital Trust Almshouses. Obviously, if the weather is really bad, this walk can be cut short, and we can head off to the pub!
Could the people who posted originally on this thread that they were going to Roche Abbey please post again so we know who is coming on the alternative walk. meeting point is the Drive-thru Mcdonalds on Farm Road S2 2TP (free parking on Farm Road) at 11.30
Tiddlywink 29-11-2009, 07:13 Morning - where are we meeting?
Tiddlywink 29-11-2009, 07:17 Oy, cheeky. You edited that after I'd asked the question!! See you at 11.30:hihi:
Yep, we're still coming. Trying to print off the leaflet for the heritage trail, but can't open it for some reason. Can anyone else open it & send it to me so I can laminate it & have a proper history guide? :D

Sorry wont be comming have fun

Sent it!
However, if you look at it you'll see that the actual Trail is a linear walk as opposed to the round walk that I've got in my head, the one we did one night last summer. If you can print it off that'll be fine, but if you can't I've got it on that Walk Sheffield leaflet.
Sorry, I won't be joining you see you all soon
I'm coming still :)
Presumably MrP knows about the new arrangements?
Village Owl 29-11-2009, 08:01 I'll be there.
Presumably MrP knows about the new arrangements?
Sorry, change of plan - going for a quick run instead. Hopefully I'll join you on the next one.
Yes, Mr P knows and he isn't going.
Hope you don't get too wet :)
joe crow 29-11-2009, 08:42 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
I'm going to give the alternative walk a miss and stay local today
see y'all soon :)
Well, what a lovely day we had today, doing part of the Norfolk Park Trail, having a sumptious lunch at the cafe at the Heritage Centre, and then following it up with a visit to see Zippy at the Workstation, and looking for maps at the Millenium galleries. Everything else was fine, but didn't reckon much to the maps.
Really enjoyed today, apart from the torrential rain at the very begining. We had a fantastic lunch & then spent the afternoon being cultural, mooching round a craft fair & then the Millenium Galleries. Made for a very nice pleasant day. Thanks to everyone for the great company as usual:)
billysmum 29-11-2009, 15:09 An enjoyable stroll was had by all. The chocolate cake from Norfolk Park cafe nearly finished me off, serves me right really as I didn't need it....but it was very yummy !
zippydedodah 29-11-2009, 15:43 Was nice to see you all pop by the fair today. Thank you for brightening my day! :)
Zx
Tiddlywink 29-11-2009, 17:52 Lunch was lovely, as was the company. Still can't eat anything. Found Mr T a frozen chicken curry, he loved it. Thinks he has been spoiled, but he didn't see what I had :hihi:
Village Owl 29-11-2009, 18:20 Thoroughly enjoyed today, a lovely leisurely stroll round part of the Norfolk Park Trail including a lovely lunch in the cafe; oh that chocolate cake was gorgeous:thumbsup:.
Then enjoyed looking round the craft candy fair in the workstation and seeing Zippy's surprise:o when we all walked in, I could have spent a fair amount of money in there if I had any spare. It was also nice to finally have the time to look round the Millenium Galleries, at all the exhibits:D.
Even got some christmas shopping done afterwards.
All in all a great Sunday.
