Just got in from New Moon and I'm amazed. Cineworld had either 4 or 5 screens open and sold out from what I gather.
Screaming girlies all over the places, shrieking, and whooping and building as the lights went down. Then collective sighs and drooling for the next two hours.
It stomps all over Hardwickes lousy Twilight.
How did audiences get so .... Americanised? It's such a strange thing to see.
So yeah, it's Twilight and much like Marmite you either love it or hate it.
Chris Weisz did it justice although frankly the werewolves were a bit too American Werewolf in London and Wolves of Willoughby Chase for me... I though animatronics had moved on more in the last 30 years. However, even that improved through the film.
I think even a non reader could follow this one better than Hardwickes patchy esoteric interpretation.

I just got in from screening Twilight : New Moon and I'm amazed I'm still alive! Almost had a heart attack when it looked like the interlock between two screens was going to die on us (it stopped on the trailers twice for those sat in screens 3 and 4), but a quick fix with some elastic bands and padlocks (don't ask) got it working again! Phew! For a brief moment I had visions of being mobbed by packs of ravenous emos, demanding to get the film back on!
We've not had a midnight show THAT busy....ever! Screen 7 sold out early this week. Screen 4 sold out by last night, and Screen 9 went tonight, so Screen 3 was opened as a back up...and that came close to going! At 11pm the foyer was packed with eager 'lighters clamouring to get in to see the film.
Ah well, suppose I'd best get some rest now before going in tomorrow at 1pm for another 8 or 9 hours of fun (it has already sold out for most of tomorrow from 5pm through to 10.15pm).

LOL. You, too, could experience the 'joys' of being in Boy Band by being mobbed by a horde of ravenous girls when the New Moon showing you're overseeing gets cocked up!
It wouldn't be pleasant.
Ive seen Twilight and New Moon and planning on going to see Eclipse when it comes out (in June i think?!) but tbh i dont think they beat the books by a long shot!!
I've seen both Twilight and New Moon and loved them both. My daughter has the books and I've had a flick through them but they're definately written for teenagers and at 44 I found them a tad too young for me.:D
But Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen is utterly divine.
Well i've read the books and am still trying to catch up on lost sleep from reading all night lol. Seen twilight when it came out on dvd but not new moon as no one i know likes twilight (boo!) and i'm not about to go to watch it on my own!
The first film i thought was good although i just found myself staring at Robert Pattinson hehe but obviously the books are better :)
