Open Studios event @ Persistence Works, Brown Street, Sheffield S1 2BS (opposite The Rutland Arms)

Over 60 artists and makers will be opening their doors and welcoming people into their workspaces, which are usually closed to the public. Collectively they will be showing a wealth of different artwork from sculpture, painting, photography and print, to furniture, jewellery, silverware, metalwork, ceramics, textiles, stained glass and mosaic, much of which will be available to buy.
On Friday 5.30-8.30pm 20th November:
- Join us for the evening launch event for Open Studios
- Hear live music with acapella harmony from The Purple Cats
- Chat to friends over a drink in the Friday Night Atrium Bar
On Saturday 11am to 5pm 21st November:
- Relax in the Saturday Cafe selling homemade cakes and refreshments
- Buy original art and craft on The Market stall
- Hear Kid Acne talk about his new mural at Yorkshire Artspace (3pm)
- Watch a sweet making performance by Sweet Theatre, who will be creating limited edition candy for the event (2pm)
Studio based activities:
- decorate Raku pots with Brian Holland and Zandra (in studio 3, 11am-3pm)
- Make Christmas decorations with Anna Childs (in studio 6, 11am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3pm)
- Create small sculptures with Ross Gilbertson, which will later be cast into bronze (in studio eight)
- Help create a work in progress ceramic installation with a seaside theme with Sarah Villeneau (in studio 14)
- Win an original painting of the Seventh Wonder of the Peak by Paul Evans (in studio 42)
The event is free and open to all, so come along, bring your friends and enjoy art at its best at Yorkshire Artspace.
