View Full Version : Windy weather today people!!
ericsean 18-11-2009, 06:41 Quite windy out there this morning, take care every one. looks like my work for the day is cancelled. Although it does generate a little bit of aerial work for me. If your having problem with your tv pictures today, look outside at the aerial first, you might find its fell over in the wind. Normally the first ones to fall are the ones with two aerials on one cheap pole... take care today!!
Anyone got any windy weather stories?

Jabberwocky 18-11-2009, 08:00 There are garden trampolines all over the place here and they weigh a bloody ton! I just took my kid to school and its like the Somme for Wheelie bins.
The wind kept me up all night! Sounded like a tornado, thought I was goiing to wake in OZ.
grouchomarx 18-11-2009, 08:04 the wind woke me up about 5 this morning i must stop having beans for supper
RobbyBrown 18-11-2009, 08:19 The wind can cause real concern especially if you are sat on the top deack of a double deker bus.
The bloke next to me was certainly suffering from the wind, and it made for a smelly journey
Can I thank the poster of these messages, and all similar threads for their useful social service. I live in a soundproofed house without any windows and I am unable to see that it is windy until it is too late and I have stepped outside into the terrifying nightmare of windyness. Without such information I wouldn't be aware that I need to put a coat on or that I might feel slightly colder than I do in the house. So well done all of you!
CrackPot 18-11-2009, 08:43 wooooo its windy big wow, next you will be moaning it's too cold, too hot, god's avin a fart leave him to it.
As my Mum says, if you can't say anything positive, keep your trap shut.
I drove up Meadowhead this morning and every blue bin (apart from one) had been blown over - good job the rain had made all the paper & card soggy

Just a brief respite. Wind will pick up this evening from when it looks like strong to gale force winds through to next Monday.
XCWeather (http://www.xcweather.co.uk/GB/observations) is your friend, click on the arrows for Manchester or Doncaster airports to see a forecast...or use Emley Moor if you live on high ground.
GordonBennet 18-11-2009, 12:53 The weather's turned typically Autumnal and people are shocked? :loopy:
Have some of you never experienced November in this country before? It's supposed to be wet and windy!
But not this windy chief, not this windy...

It's just a bit windy, fairly mild, and a bit wet at times. Pretty typical for the time of year.
Jabberwocky 18-11-2009, 16:19 Hmmm...
Looks like we`re going to have to start buying heavier garden trampolines and lead lined wheely bins then because if it wasnt strong wind that moved them all then Earths gravity must be weakening.
wobblywill 18-11-2009, 16:26 Oh no I'm going out tonight as well. With these high winds I won't look as stunning when I get there as I did when I left the house! The wind will play havoc with my hair. Oh no, what am I guna do!

Buy a hairnet
But if you're a bloke don't wear it on the bus :hihi:.
Jabberwocky 18-11-2009, 16:40 Or he could mess his hair up before he goes out and hope that by sheer random chance the wind blows it into a neat style!

Depends where you live. In Norton last night there were lots of gusts between 40 and 53 mph.
