Can anyone advise me on which would be the best course of action to try to get priority
acommodation for my 84 yr old father who has health issues.
He is currently living in a 2 bedroom council hse run by sanctuary housing.
He can no longer sleep upstairs or get up all the hills needed to catch a bus.
I cant get down as much as i would like as the bus to there is only every hour and often misses. (i dont drive)
I would ideally love him to live either near me or surrounding areas of Stocksbridge.
Also it would free up the 2 Bedroom for a family.
Which would be the best housing assosiation to put his name on.
Or is it the SCC that own all the bungalow properties in the Stocksbridge and surrounding areas.

Have a look on the sheffield property shop website, as there are many properties that would suit, or even sheltered accommodation on the "First come first Served" section that, if he registers with the council for housing, he can bid on.

Is your father on the council housing register, if not thats probably the first thing he should do. Registering with the council/Sheffield Homes can give him access to housing association properties too. There are quite a lot of properties for the elderly in Stocksbridge, including around 50 bungalows. However, flats for the elderly are often available much more quickly than bungalows.

This page might help - http://www.sheffieldhomes.org.uk/find-a-new-home/housing-for-the-elderly

Housing association list here: http://www.sheffieldhomes.org.uk/find-a-new-home/helping-you-find-a-home/housing-associations
Can't find any listed as having homes in Stocksbridge though.

I think Sheffield Homes is your best bet.
