Anyone know what's going on on Chavonshire Green today? Whatever it is it's a bit of a washout ..loads of money spent on marquees, bouncy castles etc and noone turns up!

It's the council wasting yet more of taxpayer's money trying to be cool and "engage" with yoof culture - why not go and have a go on the bouncy castle - you're paying for it!

Instead of Bouncy castles and tents and whatnot , the council could have made it more relevant to today's Yoof.
They could have had three , one-way>> only interlinked tents .
The fiirst could have had free beer----------drink as much as you like.!!!
The second tent could have huge vats where all the Yoof could be sick. After recovery they would move to Tent 3 where they would be hit over the head with a large cosh. They would then be loaded onto lorries and driven to the north of Scotland , never to return.
The free beer offer would ensure the city would be clear of Yoof in about 2 days.
The reduntant counsellors and Social Workers could perhaps deal with the vats.

how comes they have these events in 'Devonshire Green' etc run by the council yet the few events they had programmed for Longley have been cancelled by the council due to a lack of funds... makes you laugh...

Well for all you misunderstood people who just want to bash the council before you get the facts it was the 'Connexions' group who have their office on Division street who were running the event. I don't know what the idea was behind it, possibly a recruitment drive for the recent school leavers who are not sure what to do, etc.

I thought Connexions was the new trendy name for Youth Services.
Whoever it is they've got on my bloody nerves today playing repetitive carp all afternoon. I think tomorrow I'm going to play a stereo outside connexions office window for hour after hour and see how they bloody like it.

Not a happy bunny - I've got a banging headache.
