Other than at the Asda out on the parkway, is there anywhere in town I can take loads of coins to be counted?

It's not "in town", but there's one in the foyer of Sainsburys on Archer Road.

it don't count it for you.
it exchanges it for shooping credit in the store & takes a nice cut from your readies for the favour.can't remember if its 17.5p for every quid.

Miggy's in Crookes, am guessing Crystal Peaks and Asda are too far to go with bags of coppers, best bet is if you have kids, challenge them to see who's best at counting, and give them a treat for counting it!

as has been said the counting machines take a healthy (for them) commission ,

the best and cheapest way, assuming your bank aren't arsey aobut counter transactions is to count it up yourself , bag it up in bank bags in the appropriate denomination and amount and pay it in to an account.

quite a few banks credit cash transactions immediately so you should be able to draw it striaght back out in folding !

Are there no banks with counting machines?! Broomhill branch don't like it much when given bags of 2p's!

7p per pound is commission rate, not bad actually if you have a fair bit and cant be bothered to count it all. If it is not correctly bagged up aswell, a bank wont take it.

I use the one at Sainsburys on Archer road regularly, its actually amazing how quickly small change amounts up to if you just throw it in a pot every night.

other than when working in a bingo hall, i didnt think these machines were anywhere! handy to know. Banks dont like being given loads of copper, as i once found out. The look i got, i might as well have gone in with a shot gun.

I always used to want a coin sorter/counter just as a toy to play with :) You can get them fairly cheaply like this one (http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=960), but not sure how much you need to pay to get one that counts too... And of course your bank still has to let you pay it in!
