Does anybody know where to buy model trees in Sheffield?

White ones would be best, and abstract ones - even better.

Or childrens foam 3D shapes, about an inch tall.

Or anything else that might fit the bill.

Thanks,

RAArchitects

(PS - tried the model shop on London Rd, but they only have lichen)

There's a model shop on Fitzallan Square.

Alternatively, you could alwys spend a happy hour or to revisiting your childhood making trees with Lichen and and painted, twisted wire / cocktail sticks for tree trunks!

That's how I'd like to do it, but I'm not sure the client is willing to pay for the time involed in that method ;)

Ya beat me to it!

I was just about to pop up to Fitzallan Square and look!

If you have any Leeds contacts, there's a nice model shop / model railway emporium in the Merrion Centre in Leeds.

You could try the Games Workshop down near the bottom of the Moor. Or theres a wargaming shop in orchard square, that also sells alot of other modelling stuff.

Do you have to by in Sheffield?

Surely the usual architects suppliers would supply these. Along with traffic lights, vehicles, people, animals etc...

There is one in Meadowhall too, on the first floor, next to the exit near Boots/Florist.

Go up the steps above the Shef Wednesday shop and in through the doors. Theres a spiral staircase and the shop is (i think) on the second floor up the staircase. I forget what its called.

They have alot of new and second hand GW stuff, but theres a fair amount of other stuff too - both 'fantasty' and 'historical'. Probably worth checking it out if you get the chance

There's a model making /handicrafts shop right by R&R Bar (near Bed & The Chinese Fireworks place)
From what I can remember they have quite a good range.

Does anybody know if Whiteheads Handicraft Centre is still on London Rd? or if it's moved (or closed).

I'm sure it wasn't there last time I went past, but 'upmystreet.com still have it listed

That's the one ;)

Is it still there? there's a huge bathroom/bedroom showroom place at the bottom of London Rd now - several shop units worth

I'd hoped to find some foam shapes on the Early Learning website. They would be ideal - but no joy :(

:hihi: You gave everybody in the office a laugh Edd

My boss quite fancies either making them out of florists oasis, then spraying it white, or better still - spun paper balls (and I've just found some on the internet) as they require no faffing, therefore no more time or money than just ordering and paying

Thanks for everybody's help.

Wonder what else he's got on this list :suspect:
