View Full Version : Lowlife scum on 81 bus.
Yesterday my OH, the little 'uns and myself went to the cinema. On the way home, we got the 81 bus, which was quite busy. A youth sat near the back was asked by an elderly lady to take his feet off the seat, so that she and her companion could sit down. He grunted & mumbled, moved them. Because the seat was now dirty, she asked him to wipe away his muck. He said no and can't you sit somewhere else!! Another guy asked him to take his feet down, which of course he didn't!
Im sure not all kids are like this, but is there any wonder most think todays youth are ignorant, rude and have no respect for anyone else.
gina2007 16-11-2009, 08:18 Its true. The 'youths' are ignorant (Even though im only 18!) I hate it when there are little idiots on buses. I was getting on the 88 last week and about 4 of them got off at the stop after I got on and started mouthing at someone who was clearly disabled telling her to 'shut the f up, stupid cow - shouldve been put down at birth' etc because im young - I feel that I can have a go with them though :P So I do. And I did. Soon shut up when a big 'chavvy' looking girl started giving them what for.
They dont have any respect for anyone and think the world owes them. About time some of them got knocked down a peg or two!
MatthewBell 16-11-2009, 08:29 Another angry young man with a chip on his shoulder.
What he needs is an outlet to vent his frustrations instead of conforming through being subversive. Something like sport, fitness, or maybe just having his opinion heard at school in the classroom, or at home.

Looked like you were about to suggest the army there! Although it'd be a good thing to get the slop off the streets, I wouldn't want a numpty watching my back in a conflict situation...
destinyblu 16-11-2009, 10:06 i was on a duble decker bus the other day (wont say witch one) on my own on way to taking my little girl in her pram to pick sum balloons for her birthday party, i had been on a couple of stops when 4 school children got on the bus then two more the stop after all paying 40p and going upstairs, they looked about 14 - 15.
it seemed abit early for kids to be at the bus stop at this time as it was about 2.45 or just abit after and i didnt think most schools finished till about 3 but anyway the bus was abit empty and there was just mainley old people and myself with my pram parked at the front of the bus
these youths where shouting very rude and nasty comments like <removed> and making stupid noises
as i got off the bus at my stop (in an interchange) they shouted out of the upstairs windows somthing like "you <removed> ugly <removed>" and then ducked (how sad) i swear to god if i was with any one else or hadnt got my child id have got back on that bus and sorted the lot of you out !!!!! get a grip children
As disrepectful as it was, i think 'Lowlife scum' is a bit over the top?
MatthewBell 16-11-2009, 11:00 This sort of thing is done for the response and the sense of power that arises from this. If you react they way they want you to I.E shocked and disgusted, they have won. You need to rise above it , smile, nod and move on.

Oh yes, your right. He was mummys little angel......

He needed a clip round the ear like we used to get if we were disrespectful. My lads nearly 16 and i know he would never talk to other people like this lad did, because thats the way he was brought up. Its about time the laws were changed so that the youth that are like this lad was cant get away with it anymore, people should be able to react how they want (within limits) to this sort of behaviour. I felt like clipping him myself
gatoruby 16-11-2009, 14:20 Just for the record this lowlife was not a shoolboy but infact looked as if he had just finished work.
homyachok 16-11-2009, 15:45 Oh yes, your right. He was mummys little angel......
To be fair to the poster, maybe he/she is comparing to other scum which we have to deal with nowdays. Ofcourse back in the days this attitude would not be put up with, but unfortunately lets be thankful he is not going round robbing and assaulting old folk....yet.
p.s for the record I agree with those who think hes a low life scum;)

That's true, but you could say that about most people. Just because a black man is ignorant and rude to me, it doesn't mean they all are.
But I agree with you that one person can spoil it for the rest. And it's easy to see why young people have such a bad reputation.
Sausage Dog 16-11-2009, 16:08 As disrepectful as it was, i think 'Lowlife scum' is a bit over the top?
I hear what you are saying, but how would you describe this kind of behaviour.
Low-life - a person of low social staus or moral character
Scum - impure matter that forms on the surface
The attitude of some people is certainly of low moral character, and they seem to think that they can ride over the top of the rest of us
FallenAngel6 16-11-2009, 16:09 My brothers and sisters and i have all been brought up to be respectful and polite. As sad as it sounds we always say please and thankyou, we always move if there is someone elderly, disabled or with a pram and we have only ever been rude once or twice and even then apologised for it. We found we gained more respect by being respectful towards others...unfortunately this is not the way children/teens etc behave today, and its not always the parents fault, a parent cant watch a child 24/7, so they can only punish them when they are around and doing something bad...
Its just this big long nasty chain where one kid gets on the wrong side of the train tracks and then another one joins him and another and another...
I honestly think a year in training or naughty camps for summer might do the trick. If my daughter was so naughty and rude that i could do nothing to help her i'd be more than happy to send her away for two weeks of her seven weeks holiday for good hard labour work and perhaps learn a lesson or two....
But not all kids are like it :) Im happy to see my thirteen year old brother is still behaving very well and not mixing in with the wrong crowd.
Looked like you were about to suggest the army there! Although it'd be a good thing to get the slop off the streets, I wouldn't want a numpty watching my back in a conflict situation...
I reckon this should happen! They'd soon whip them into shape and a youth we can be proud of rather than scared of.

Or, a still nasty youth who is now trained to fight and trained to use a gun....

Im telling you Brat Summer Camp is the way to go!

Erm, no he wasnt :loopy:

I think you'll find that there are lots of people who are proud of a large proportion of our young people today.
One sits and idly wonders if those such as Oddgit, who advocate compulsory military service have ever had what it takes to be in the Armed Forces. I don't know why, but I rather suspect not.
Must say, the thread title is a HUUUUUUGE over reaction, he isn't low life scum, amongst the druggies, rapists and muggers, he just a typical youth <removed> that we have to put up with

I said summer brat camp lol no armed forces :P
gatoruby 17-11-2009, 08:53 Erm, no he wasnt :loopy:
Excuse me he was I was the lady involved.
Just for the record this lowlife was not a shoolboy but infact looked as if he had just finished work.
Ok, I didn't say he was a schoolboy, just a youth. As for just finishing work, how can you tell? The point I was trying to make, was that he was rude, ignorant and showed little respect.
Im sure not all kids are like this, but is there any wonder most think todays youth are ignorant, rude and have no respect for anyone else.
I would suggest calling someone 'lowlife scum' for having their feet up on a seat is showing a lack of respect.

Your missing the point......
Paul2412 17-11-2009, 10:58 I find that when kids do things in front of other kids to look "hard", it's good fun to look at their face and then look down at them before shaking my head and smiling to myself.
It seems to get them angry and their mates start laughing at them
MatthewBell 17-11-2009, 13:06 I reckon this should happen! They'd soon whip them into shape and a youth we can be proud of rather than scared of.
Personaly I'm not exactly 'proud' of anyone who is - to put it bluntly - paid to kill.

You're right, this is the kind of phrase you'd expect to be coupled with a rapist or something.
Plus, I think most people would refuse, if someone asked me to wipe a seat clean for them, I'd also refuse. I don't consider this to be a lack of respect.
He moved his feet when she asked, I'm sorry but that for me is enough respect. I don't agree with the fact that you think he should follow all her orders, just because the lady was old. I'm sure she asked him in the politest of tones to clean her seat too
gatoruby 18-11-2009, 12:04 I did ask him polietly to move his feet (wonder if he wipes his dirty shoes all over the setee at home too?) I asked him to brushoff the large pieces of grit on the seat that had obviously come off HIS trainers if you had been there you would have seen just how dirty they were. I do not put all young people in the same class it's like any age group the minority spoil it for the majority.
Thank you Frohike for your support at least you were there and witnessed the incident 1st hand.
End of the matter now as far as I am concerned .
P.S Elderly I can just about cope with but Old !!!!!!!!!!11

Tell me about it! They're all over the place! Poor old grannies can't leave their own homes for fear of being stabbed! :o
Throw 'em all under a bus, I say. Sorted.
Jimi Hendrix 20-02-2010, 09:38 Ship them all off to boot camp.
Sheff2006 20-02-2010, 10:18 Its not always the young ones who are ignorant/bad mannered/disrespectable etc.
I was on a 120 bus this morning from Sheffield to Crystal Peaks. A woman who looked to be in her 30s had her music on so loud that everyone on the bus could hear it. Yet she was sat near enough the front of the bus to read the sign about not playing music loud enough for other passengers to hear.
I can only assume she is unable to read.

That, or simply too pig ignorant to take any notice of the request.
RobbyBrown 20-02-2010, 18:07 This is something Gordon Brown needs to take action on now, failure to do so will impact on our ability to beat this recession
I was on the 40 today, a group of about 20 kids got on the bus. A few bits of mucking about but overall i thought they behaved better than i did at that age. It's not all doom and gloom out there. It's usually just one or two annoying kids that give the rest a bad name.
