My great grandfather used to have a haulage business in the Pitsmoor area, possibly Roe Lane during the 30's to 50's. Would any of you 'older' folk remember this firm? perhaps you may have driven for them, I know my grandfather Kenneth Dennis did. A kind chap on here has already looked at the Kelly's directory for the business but sadly to no avail. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Dear Sir

My Name Is Susan. I am 43 years young. I am desperatly seeking any information relating to my father whome i have never met. I understand he resided at 33 Rossington Road, Hunters Bar, Sheffield. I understand your surname is Dennis. I know its a very long shot. But do you know of any Bill (William) Stewart Dennis of this address.I would image he would be in his very late 80s or early 90s?

Your time is greatly appreciated

Kind regards
Susan (and her twin Brother Stuart)

I wonder,

There was a Dennis family that were both Coal Merchants and Turf Accountants but I think they were more swallownest /Aston way. I know there is an Eddie Dennis belonging to this family and I think he frequents the Black Bull at Aughton might be worth a try
