alex3659 13-11-2009, 16:40 The word you may be looking for could be "malo"
Spanish, "un hombre malo" ,,,,,,,,,"an evil man"
Also used for dirty words etc.
I remember Milo, as a cocoa and malt flavoured powder that was mixed
with hot milk.
Similar to Horlicks
BobbyDazzler 14-11-2009, 13:14 Milo O Shea was a irish comic from years ago, I don't think he were paticulally mucky
me-and-pippo 14-11-2009, 14:04 This is where the mucky bit may have originated from ..

This may be a very old question, but I have just found it and YES, my family used the word milo to mean filthy. We spent time in Africa, where milo is a sorgum grain, and I think this might be the origin of the expression. But I'm only guessing but the Venus de Milo, doesn't seem a very likely inspiration for the term.
victormh 28-06-2011, 22:58 The MILO I remember many years ago (I am 71 this week) as a child was a chocolate drink. It dissapeared from the shops, I think, in the 1950's. Due to the increased manufacturing of what we now know as Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate. MILO was invented and produced by an Australian guy as a health drink, and was later exported to the UK and other countries. I am from Swallownest, but have lived here in Malaysia since the end of 2006. We have MILO in all food type shops and supermarkets (Carrefour, Tesco, Cold Store, Giant etc.,), shelves and shelves of the product. There are a number of different types of MILO, Regular, Sport, health, etc., and it is imported from Australia. Malaysia is the worlds biggest consumer of MILO, we drink it hot, cold, iced etc. Sold in packets, satchets, cans. We can get virtually all UK foods here, including Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate, but MILO easily matches it
Best Wishes - Grey Eminence - Subang Jaya, near Kuala Lumpur, Ma,laysia. 6-55am and already 96 degrees, will be around 104 degres later this morning

You can still get Milo "cocoa" type drink here in the UK. It's made by Nestle, unfortunately.
(I try not to buy Nestle products, as a protest about what they do in the third world, with their underhanded tricks selling overpriced baby milk to the poverty stricken mothers, contrary to a W-H-O edict)

Milo is still very common in Indonesia. All the supermarkets and convenience stores stock it.
Best wishes from BSD, Jakarta where it's lovely and sunny.
I agree with willybite. The term used around here was miley not milo
Milo the chocolate drink is still a big favourite in New Zealand.
I can't see this drink being dirty or something untoward.
