Does anyone know what they are doing with the ramp area onto the Parkway at Handsworth are they only widening it or what?

do you mean at Asda? i think it's either a few more parking spaces at the store or a petrol station OR maybe another exit from the store.

I will take a look at this on friday on my way over to Dinninton! Does me good to look out for new things after going on the same bus route around a thousand times!!

I work at the asda in Handsworth, and from what I can gather, this is a new entrance being constructed, which should be completed by October. As far as I am aware also, is that the present entrance/exit on Handsworth Road is to be altered as well but I'm not sure how. I will keep listening for updates and post them on here

I think ASAW means the entrance ramp onto the parkway heading towards the M1 at handsworth. It's been closed for a while now. Dont know mi sen.

From what I understand, the congestion problems caused by so much traffic using the Asda store, along with a few minor accidents at the junction of the store has meant they have had to think about how to ease the congestion.

The solution seems to be a slip road to the Parkway and re-design of the junction at the entrance to the store.

It's enough of a nightmare merging the sliproad traffic with the Parkway and the traffic trying to get on the A57 without merging more in :loopy:

The subsidence on that stretch is terrible......it is like driving a car with square wheels going along that slip road...especially from the Mosborough turn off roundabout up to the Prince of Wales roundabout!!

I hope they consider a petrol station too....my old local Asda in Middlesbrough had the cheapest petrol everytime - always a penny or more less then Tesco or Morrisons!!

asda are building anew road to run parallel with "handsworth rd" or whatever its called, so that traffic can filter from the parkway without obstructing the main thoroughfare.
