My daughter rang me at 2 this morning .. gah .. crying her eyes out as she said her piggie Dylan kept sort of fitting; jerking about then going onto his side.

Prior to that, for the last week or so, he has been behaving really strangely. He runs around his cage like billyo .. jumping up onto the top of his little house and staring out.

She's been cuddling him, but he's very restless .. so I advised her to put him back in his cage. He kept running around again and she cut up a few celery bits for him to nibble on and he kept standing on his hind legs looking out of the cage .. I told her to cover the top of the cage with a light scarf to keep the draughts out and also to maybe make him feel more secure.

She's bringing him to my house today as I had to look after him last week as they were having an inspection of the pub and pets aren't really allowed. He's fine at ours .. or he has been .. laying in my arms, chatting away .. back legs stretched out ...

The thing is .. the pub is haunted .. stupidly as it may be, do you think Dylan is freaked by the atmosphere? They have a cat that goes mad at times and runs to the end of the corridor staring at the door to the guest rooms ... where the ghost has been experienced.

Or is it something medical? Either way .. if he continues with being madly skittish here when he comes, I will get him to the vets.

I think its time to take him to the vets, fits are very serious, it could be the starts of a brain tumour.

Thanks .. I've alrady sent her a text to tell her to get him to the vets .. poor little chap.

I told her that's what comes with buying pets from Pets At Home .. (my opinion anyway)

Sadly things like this can happen to any pig, but bad breeding won't help thats for sure.

My friend recently lost a pig with the same symptoms, turned out she had a tumour behind the eye

I don't always agree with that.

My last two pigs were from there, and both lived 7 years.

I'm not the biggest fan, but I wouldn't dismiss them entirely.

I'd rather adopt though.

I guess it's ok if you know what you're looking for .. and I have to admit, that looking Dylan over, he is gorgeous, but yes, I'd rather go to a breeder.

I'm in all day if you want to bring him over, I have what they'll give him and I can give him a good once over too if you like?
