it's a bit of a plug but also a genuine question for the people of shef.

this fri and sat, the bowie contingent are playing west street live. it's free and it's gonna be a rocking night. fans have voted for their favourite bowie songs and that's what will be played. classic hits and lost classics.

just out of curiosity, what is YOUR favourite bowie song? or, if you are unfamiliar with his stuff, what are the songs that you know.

if you are into bowie, then you should really be there. it aint no tacky tribute band, it's great musicians from shef all coming together to pay tribute to the great man :) think the show that bowie himself would put on right now, not people dressing as ziggy stardust. if you don't like bowie, come down and have your mind changed :)

I love Lady Grinning Soul. :D

If I have to pick one favourite though, it's got to be Moonage Daydream.

"Oh! You Pretty Things" - not sure why, just a cracking track - always gets stuck in my head.

Interesting to read which tracks others love - some I also really like, others just grate on me!

my favourite Bowie song is John, I'm Only Dancing. I hope they play it tonight and tomorrow night at West St Live!

I quite like drive in saturday, I think its called. It plays on the opening of Ian Curtis biopic Control.

With Bowie I find it funny how men my dads age, who were in the prime in the early 70's still think Bowie was king. He was their God. Its humourous how a generation of macho, socialy conservative men find such a dandyfied, cross dressing enigma their leader.

Yeah, it's called Drive-In Saturday.

Great song; it's got a very 50s 'doo-wop' sound.

Life On Mars for its eeriness.

I also love the vocal on China Girl (and Tony Thompson's powerhouse drumming).

But best of all has to be Little Drummer Boy with Bing Crosby.:gag::D
