Hey gang, Im setting up a computer for a friend and their setup causes for a printer cable to be 20-25 feet long. I have heard of printers not printing with cables over 10 feet, but beleive there has got to be a fix to this problem by now. Any suggestions? printer is an hp laserjet, computer is running win xp. calbe is 25 ft long. THanks for any help, and have a great day.

If the cable is USB it can be 5 metres MAX. If its a parallel cable, you may be able to go longer, but you will need a top quality cable. The best option is to use a network cable, then you can go as long as you like (upto 90 metres).
If the printer hasn't got a network port, you can buy a small print server to do the job. If you need help with what to buy or setting it up, ring Killer-Byte (http://www.killer-byte.co.uk)on 0800 955 3202 or 07792 665 316.
It'll be down to interference etc. I used to run a parallel-connected at the end of a 20 metre cable with no problems.
If you've already got the cable, I'd give it a go. If it doesn't work then you may have to look at LAN/wi-fi/print-server connections.
