Everyone is in a twitter - the Great Human Bird Race is coming to town! Lizzie and Jackie have been building their nest and are preparing for take off. But Auntie Doreen disapproves and is out to bring some order back to No.2 Lark Rise!

Will the dynamic father and daughter duo get a chance to fly, or will sums, dumplings and headmasters get in the way?

From the award-winning pen of Skellig writer, David Almond, this enchanting play for 4 - 7 year olds will warm your heart.

Story magic will be conjured after every performance in the Crucible upper foyer by the Orange door. Join in and be whisked away on a carpet of magical tales. Free

Stay behind after the show and meet the cast. This is your chance to ask them questions about the characters in the play and find out what it's like to be involved in theatre. Free

Come and browse copies of My Dad's A Birdman as well as other books written by David Almond or illustrated by Polly Dunbar. There will also be a selection of other gorgeous gift books.

I'll start you off.

The Robin has to be my favourite. It must have something to do with Christmas being my favourite time of year and that they adorn cards, trees, and wrapping paper. There are lots of magical childrens Christmas tales involving robins, and around that time of year, it's the only thing, apart from snow, that the kids get excited about if they see it in the garden. It's pretty unmistakable, and has to be the first bird that a lot of children recognise.
