Does anyone know any butchers in Sheffield (north preferred) who are a) reasonably priced and b) source their meat very locally (as local as possible)?

Do they exist anymore? :help:

Crawshaws in Hillsborough barracks to have local meat, as do some of the other butchers in Hillsborough. Have found them all good pric e wise. Not all thei rmeat is local, but they tend to have a sign up saying the farms where most of it comes from.

Also Coppice Farm shop ion Rivelin Valley Road sell their own produce and other local too.

A vote for Coppice house farm shop from me.
Their own meat is as local as you can get and the rest comes from neighbouring farms so is also very local.
It's not the cheapest but decent meat isn't going to be cheap. If price is a large factor buy the cheapest cuts to bring the price down. You just need to cook them in the right way to make them tender but they usually carry more flavour than the prime cuts anyway, it's just the tenderness that needs consideration when cooking.

Border View farm shop near Holmesfield is my favourite. It's slightly cheaper and more old school butcher style than Coppice but Holmesfield is the opposite side of the city so it's maybe not ideal for you.

There is also a few out of Sheffield northwards but they are decent drive from Sheffield depending on where you are.
