Can someone please tell me which is the closest zoo to Sheffield?

I am also interested to know if we have any local animal parks/farms in the area?

I think the nearest is Twycross.Then maybe Chester.There is also Knowsley safari park,I've not been thier, but know a lot of friends who love it- but apparantly you have to be willing to let the monkeys rip off your windscreen wipers!!

Cannon Hall between Sheffield and Barnsley, its great for all ages. Plenty of different animals. A good play area for children A great hall, free to look around and a large restaurant. Great day out. You can get details on the web.

We've been to Knowsley safari park. It was a great day out we stayed for nearly five hours there's plenty to do and you can drive around as many times as you like, once your in there its all free. They had a seal and parrot show also.
The children thought it was great don't have anything like it down here.
You can drive around the monkey enclosure there is a waiting area where you can sit and watch (and laugh) while the monkeys rip apart other peoples cars :)
It was great value for money you can buy a session ticket and go back as many times as you like in a year, can't remember how much but it was cheap. Good if you live up that way.
