If you shop at Waitrose throughout November, remember to recycle your carrier bags rather than using theirs and you'll get a green token to put in the 'Community Matters' perspex boxes in the entrance/exit -

This month, RAIN RESCUE is one of the three local charities that will recieve a share of £1000 - the more green tokens that go into the RAIN RESCUE box, the bigger the proportion of the £1000 they will receive

Oh excellent!

I know I nominated them, think a few others did too!

Yes everyone, please do put your token in Rain's section!!

Come on everyone, lets get Rain Rescue to the top! I don't think the animal charities generally do very well. Sadly, they always seem to have less tokens than the others.

After rosco's Big vet bill it will a great boost to raise a reasonable amount this way. Wish i'd saved mine from last month now, there wasn't one I liked last month, so just put it in the one with least! Thanks waitrose for accepting rain as one of this month's charities.

Whippee - glad we managed to get in there and I hope people know who we are and what we do.

Its always hard when you are up against some really good charities as I know Amy's retreat and the homeless also are so needy. But - we need it too - so drop your coffers in and tell all about it - spread the word

Up the RR

Ooh wow! :D

That's great news... I'll certainly be finding lots of excuses to go to Waitrose this month! :hihi:

a request please - could someone nominate Sheffield Hallam Cats Protection at some stage, most of the other Sheffield animal charities have benefitted from this great scheme and I'd love to see CP up there on the board too - it's had to fork out a lot of money on medical bills for incoming cats and kittens over the past year.

How did I miss this?!

I wonder if anybody would be able to volunteer to get some of our posters up in other shops in the area so people know who we are? People can be wary of donating or supporting something claiming to be a charity they're not familiar with in this day and age :shakes:

They obviously dont notify charities in advance that they've been selected to be one of the three that month, which is a shame because how else are you going to know and have time to rally the troops to shop there if they don't usually. I try to go in a couple of times a month at least to make a point of checking the board. Anyway, Rain Rescue get my green tokens this month, fingers crossed for a big un xK
