Looks like a little field mouse... bet hes got loads of little chums just waiting to join him :) you could put him down some food to stop him nibbling on your plants if it's bothering you.

A field mouse, - we get them in the garden a lot, eating the seed I put down for the birds. Then when they get complacent and too fat to run very fast a kestrel drops in for a nice juicy meal :D

SCREAM, SCREAM it's a mouse a little field mouse, small intelligent very fast moving and a total nightmare if they decide to set up house in your house.
I like them but I don't [if you get what I mean]
They usually have lots of brothers and sisters not that far away so I wouldn't do anything to encourage them especially if they're within striking distance of an air vent into your home.

Ohhh i wish i not looked at that now.reminds me when i lived in shirecliffe and all the house was being pulled down we had them in the house full family and there neighbours.. I use to like them but seeing to many of them in my home make me go mad in the head..now i moved i got too many traps and gizmos to keep them out if they did enter my house. Then again my rottweiler miss chaceing them at night and killing them..Maybe nice to some of you but i say stun them all with a big electric stung bait box.

It's had a good go at my spring onions, tomatos, garlic and passion fruit, a very healthy diet, I'm going to put some sunflower seeds out for it tonight.

I haven't named it yet.

looks like a baby rat to me!

We caught field mice in trap in our house and they are tiny with much smaller ears and thinner tail!

But assuming the lath in the trellis is the standard width of about an inch it has to be a mouse. The real identifier however is the shape of the ears.

Probably not a field mouse but a house mouse which lives in the wild as happily as behind your skirting board, I think a true fieldmouse is a much lighter colour.

My boyfriends sister lives out in the country and she had loads of house mice living in her sofa, she wasn't that bothered about it.

I also think its eyes are not bulgy enough to be a field mouse - its a young housemouse.

Well you have to wonder what they're living on,- is she a messy consumer of TV dinners ? :D

We generally get a few looking for the easy life around November time, but I think warmth is the attraction as I feed the birds all year round.

I trap them live and release them in the woods, baiting the traps with Rowan berries so they have an idea of what they're going to have to live on :)

I think they went outsde for food, they just "lived" in the sofa.

The whole house was infested with god knows what but thats old farmhouses for you.

I used to dread sleeping on the floor.

Passion fruit? Does that grow well in Sheffield?

At least little mouse has a very rounded diet no wonder he's at yours and not some weed filled garden. I'll be round in the middle of the night once the tomatoes are ripe.

They do, I was suprised to get fruit on it last year, I think it's because our neighbour has planted one to cross-pollinate mine, the fruit didn't get very big last year but this year all the rain has realy brought them on.
