I have a female thai friend(not girlfriend)who has had enough of her husband,he's been treating her bad and is abusing her mentally not letting her have any money etc;she wants to know what would happen regarding her visa,status etc.if she was to divorce him,they've been married for two or three years.

I would assume if she divorced him it wouldn't have any effect..isn't that the whole idea behind divorce? To break all ties?

It may get complicated if children are involved though.
