I think he was made to do that if memory serves correctly. Apparenty, he felt nothing in the building and they believed it wouldn't make for a very good show and rightly or wrongly (wrongly in terms of his credibility), he went along with it.

i got some free tickets to see derek in blackpool at the grand after i helped out on one of the most haunted live shows in blackpool. i have to say that i am a sceptic but not closed minded. After seeing his show i was amazed that no one wanted their money back! apart from the last 15 mins it wasnt that impressive. the first half he came out and said "i have a man with me, he was scottish, he liked a drink, his name was jim, does that mean anything to anyone?" it was actually a scottish factory fortnight or something so about 80% of the audience were scottish! liking a drink, called jim, still didnt narrow it down. no one came forward for any of the info he gave out.

I watched it and was more entertained by the super fans who were around the table and their reactions, which ranged from the MJ impersonator who sat there like a statue to the blubbering mess of a man who was overcome with the emotion of it all, through to the permanently surprised girl who was so excited by it all.

It was also odd that Derek started saying MJ was strugging to get through and find the ability to communicate...but then launched into a very lengthy speech. He obviously adapted very quickly!

I watched this, and I have to say that it was a comedic farce, it didnt even attract that many viewers. Something like 607 thousand. It was just another money making scheme of the back of him dying.

At the time I watched it I initially thought it was a genuine advert for the MJ seance, but it turned out to be an amusing dig at Mr.Akorah.
Unfortunately I only saw the advert once.
