WOW THATS £64 a month,VERY EXPENSIVE, london bus's where almost half of that.

Is it cheaper for a bus only one or a tram only one?

A monthly tram pass is £31 and it used to enable you to travel any distance on a bus for 80p (they have probably stopped that now).

Welcome to the world outside London, where public transport has been deregulated (privatised) since the Thatcher era. Prior to that we had the cheapest fares in the country.

You do tend to pay a premium if you want the flexibility of being able to use any operator's services.
For the Travelmaster multi-modal passes see www.sypte.co.uk

It's cheaper if you commit yourself to one bus company:

Stagecoach run the trams and a limited network of buses - www.stagecoachbus.com

First operate the majority of the buses - www.firstgroup.com

Yorkshire Traction also run a network of buses, mostly under the Yorkshire Terrier name, although these tend not to operate evenings or Sundays - www.tracky.co.uk.

Finally there is a small firm called TM Travel operate the odd route - www.tmtravel.co.uk

not sure about the offers but certain of studeent discount, pull out your nuswhen buying the ticket, go to bus station for more info, there is a mobility pass which lets you on for 40p a journey, so limp on the bus and say "40 plz" if all else fails :P, worked for me the other day but i was bleeding and on my way to hospital, and i had up until monday a 16-18 student 40p pass on me,
