after a little light research some time ago i was surprised how many tv adverts were removed 'cos there was a glimpse of a female n****e.
as yet i have no publish reasoning why mens nipples can be shown all day everyday without any censorship.
in this modern age of same sex relationships would it not be pertinent to remove any "sexually" explicit images, it is after all a liberated society.

I guess mens nipples can be shown because women and gay men don't get all un-neccessary and over excited at the sight of just a nipple.

There was an advert once where a woman got out of the shower and you saw a quick glimpse of a breast and nipple. I think it had to be shown late and probably got lots of complaints from the Mary Whitehouse lot!

that was the one i was researching initially it went out after 10 then it had to be withdrawn i think it had about 2000 compaints out of the whole of th uk.that's less votes than bb house members.
no one can explain or justify why just the female form has to be covered up, lads mags complain about the same discrimination all the time.

I reckon it's because the sexual association for the majority of viewers is not as great for a mans nipple as it is for a womans. If you see a womans nipple, like as not you see the whole breast which will set off lads young and old into a "Phwoooor!" cycle.

In my humble opinion there should be more on TV to steel the nations males into a state of being where they don't go doolaly at the mere hint of nipple on the box :wink:

Well seeing as alot of men like to buy magazines which have various different ladies displaying their nipples it would dangerous to show nipples on TV at anytime of the day.


These men would just over excited and their TV screens would get blurry..

When Walt Disney Studios made the Tarzan Animated Film there was a huge debate on wether or not Tarzan should have nipples!!! In the end they did give him some, but it also took ages for some to be drawn that didn't look too garphic so they are just like circles. :loopy:

it was the same with the batman costume (prior to Begins)
'cos they'd fabricatd nipples to the suit.

It's strange that in Japan the manga comics can show all sorts of pervy stuff including rape and bestiality but no nipples are allowed on the female characters.

This is because gay men appear to be able to control themselves over a male nipple on show.

Females are also able not work themselves up into an 'oooh ahhh' frenzy over an attractive male nipple.

This is why magazines produced for ladies showing lots of male nipples didn't sell well But Zoo and Nuts do ok with the boys....

csi hardly ever shows any nudity in the autopsy & provides a far better insight.

Here's a question. Why can they not show even a fleeting glance of a woman's nipple on TV, but they can sell a copy of The Sun to any child who wants it?

The only reason men get overly excited about seeing women's nipples is because it is a (relatively) rare occurrence. It is because they are hidden away and treated as a taboo. If they weren't, then eventually the 'phwoar' factor would disappear.

it's blatent double standards. they should legislate immediately to ensure an equal number of female nipples on tv to male ones. Not one less not one more... actually i'll accept more on 2nd thoughts, but not one less.

Why when one can take a group of children around any gallery where all the nice lady models are completely bare chested (esp renaisscance)*sp - in the pics - nipples to the fore?

If the female nipple (and attachments) were shown routinely on TV then maybe more women could go topless without people making such a fuss.

When it's hot, hubby can do the gardening topless, how i'd love to be able to do the same. Might cause a few accidents when i'm in the front garden though :hihi:
