View Full Version : Samsung D500, need help please!!!
MissGobby 02-08-2005, 12:34 Ive had my samsung D500 since April this year, and all this time wanted to download MP3 music onto my phone, but dont know how to, it says in the instruction booklet to use "easy studio" to download them, but does anyone know what this easy studio is and how to get it? i didnt get no cables or anything with my phone, (dont know if your supposed to), so could anyone tell me what i have to do to download MP3's to my mobile?? thanks xxx
i don't know if u have access the web via your phone, i do know someone who get s alltheir tones etc using bluetooth.
sorry can't be more help - but my mobile has a battery pack that requires a trailer behind the car.
I'm guessing here, but easy studio is probably software for a pc, and once installed you can probably transfer mp3 using bluetooth, irda or a cable.
muddycoffee 02-08-2005, 13:32 Hi Miss gobby, I have one of these phones and all you need is a bluetooth dongle for your PC and that's all. Assuming you have the drivers for the "pc bluetooth dongle" installed correctly it is farely straight forward to transfer pics and music to your phone.
Don't install the crap software from samsung it will just mess up your e-mail address book when it does a refresh.
spyro2000 02-08-2005, 13:35 Yep as Mudcoffee suggested, a Bluetooth Dongle will be your best bet, they are only cheap aswell, and it will solve all your problems.
Something like this link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80078&item=6420429253&rd=1) will do
And no Im not the one selling it, it was just a random ebay item.
MissGobby 02-08-2005, 15:12 muddycoffee where would i get any of this software?
muddycoffee 02-08-2005, 15:50 You don't need any software.
You need to buy a bluetooth Dongle (a little plug which has a transmitter/reciever in it for your computer's USB port) which you can get from Ebay, Like Spyro says above, or Ebuyer, or one of the local Computer shops or Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=-11251&doy=2m8D) .
When You get this dongle, you will usually get a drivers disk which will install the correct drivers for your windows pc.
From then on you will have a little Bluetooth symbol next to your clock which you can click on and transfer stuff to any bluetooth device including your phone.
So essentially all you need is the Bluetooth driver and windows to move pics and music between your PC and your phone.
MissGobby 03-08-2005, 12:10 thanks alot, so all i need is a bluetooth dongle and thats it? how do i get mp3s though?
muddycoffee 03-08-2005, 13:14 You can downlad them from the internet or you can make them from your own CDs. However we are not allowed to talk about downloading on the sheffield forum, because it is strictly against the rules.
Another way is if someone else has a phone with bluetooth and a tune, you can connect the phones together using bluetooth and send the tune to the other person. I sometimes pass a tune which my band has been working on to my mate when we meet for a pint on a saturday night like this.
Presumably you have a few tunes on your CD collection which you would like on your phone. You can freely download one of hundreds of little programs which will "rip" your cd track to an Mp3 which you can easily copy to your phone when you have a bluetooth dongle.

there are legal download options you know, we're allowed to talk about them (in fact I think we can discuss the illegal ones, just not recommend that people use them).

you need to enter a passkey to pair the devices (computer and phone), otherwise anyone would be able to connect to them.
Once you have paired them you should be able to use the software that came with the phone to transfer music.
Of course first you'll need to rip your cd's and convert them into mp3 or aac or whatever your phone can play. (There are threads covering that already, do a search on mp3).
