They will do a home visit to see if you are suitable, eg. not leaving the dog alone all day and a secure fenced in garden. Then you get your dog. We took in an older dog on permanant foster which means Rotherham Dog Rescue pay the vets bills if there are any problems.

I can't see any rescue wanting to rehome a dog to you - if you have just rehomed one due to change in circumstances.

I am rehoming my dog if you are interested? She is a beautiful dog but unfortunatley my daughters Asthma has detiorated. The doc tried her on steroids but is not a long term solution so our dog needs a new home. She is 2 years old, very friendly, spayed wormed etc and looking for a new loving home xxxx pm me if you want more details xxxx (ps she is free to a loving home)

Bass 88 a bit worried reading through your posts saying how you were travelling on a train to manchester to pick up your new dog , and then in following posts how it has started attacking other dogs i really hope when you rehome her you are going to truthfull to the rescue and tell them of the issues you have had with her, I just wish people would look at there likestyle before coomitting to taking on animals

Bas88 is now after another dog. I assume they rehomed the other one.

I'm incredibly allergic to some breeds, and others don't bother me at all

I have a horrible problem with dust mite too, so a vacuum cleaner with an allergy foundation approval (such as Sebo) is a must, and steam cleaning is brilliant for items such as mattresses which are more difficult to thoroughly vac

Doctors are way too glib at blaming pets without actually finding the source of the problem!

What breed of dog is she?

Same here. Staffies and some other short haired breeds especially. Never any long haired breeds that I've come across yet, however. Allergies are weird things, and as you say, it could be any number of possibilities. I assume Asthma tends to be as quirky in what can set it off?

Strix - you know how easily confused I get - took me ages to work it out - the lady trying to rehome her dog has posted her own thread up about the allergy - may be best to talk to her on there.?

sorry Rain - I hadn't seen that one (only the rehoming thread which is already closed so I can't post on it)
