Watching the match this afternoon the commentator came out with 3 gems.

1) Cardiff beat Derby 6 - 1 Chopra got all 4 of them.

2) From a long distance shot of a player preparing to take a free kick, "he's got that look in his eye". Has the commentator got bionic eyesight or just high powered binoculars to see so far away?

3) The weather is back again. Isn't it always here?

The Chopra one was great and the weather he came out with after it had been bouncing down for about 5 minutes and he said it as though it had only just started!

i remember kevin keegan saying he is a far better player without the ball.

Can understand what Keegan meant,he was never the most skillful of players, but his speed and awareness of where the ball was going to be played meant he didn't have to touch the ball until he scored,he just let the rest of the team do the work and he finished it off

Gary Birtles once said of Wes Morgan: "No wonder they call Morgan "The Major Oak", he's like a rock!"

I loved the other day when Arsenal beat Tottenham and my brother shouted 'he's got acres of space' at some point in the game in a Scottish accent and soon after Andy Gray said exactly the same thing. I think my brother plays to much FIFA.

It is a quality moment, and should be repeated more often.

I seen to remember some years ago - "and now all the goals from the Rochdale - Shrewsbury match, where the game finished 0-0"
