i must have changed some settings a while ago coz now i have to log onto windows...im the only one who uses this computer and dont have a password so i just have to press the return key...which is a pain coz ....well theres no point!!

how do i turn it off?

there was a section `how users log onto windows' but i cudunt see anything of any use.

Start->Control Panel->User Accounts->Change the way users log on and off. Turn off the welcome screen and the fast user switching. I think that will do it :wink:

both are unticked.


when i click on `change the way users log on and log off' it says

'fast user switching cannot be used because offline files is currently enabled'

There's a setting somewhere that says something like "automatically log me on as the following user".

Can't remember where it is though. :(

It should then ask you if you want to change it. Click Yes and then untick the "enable offline files"

download tweak xp from the power tools, it has an option to auto log you in, with or without password.
