We're looking for Sheffield's best unsigned bands and artists to raise money and awareness for World Aids Day.

Do you fancy yourself as the next Arctic Monkeys, Jarvis Cocker or Richard Hawley? Would you love to play at Sheffield O2 Academy with top acts?

If you're aged under 19 and you’ve got what it takes, sign up now and compete to get your name on the bill for the exclusive World Aids Day gig on Tuesday December 1st!

All you have to do is visit worldaidsdaysheffield.com and watch the special video about Aids and HIV. Get inspired and write a song, then send it to us!

Or if you've already written a song you think would be suitable, send that to us instead.

Shortlisted acts will battle other contestants by performing their song entry and two other songs at The Harley on Saturday 21st November, 1pm – 5pm.

The competition will be judged by Iain Hodgson (host of BBC Radio Sheffield’s Raw Talent show), The Violet May (the best band to come out of Sheffield since the Arctic Monkeys) and Katie Steels (DJ and host of Sheffield Live’s Mixtape show).

The winner of the battle will perform a live set, including the specially composed song at the O2 Academy World Aids Day gig 'WADstock' on December 1st 2009.

Runners up will receive exclusive prizes for taking part.

For more details call Katie or Lucy on 0114 221 0378 or visit worldaidsdaysheffield.com

It'd need to be a song you've written. Although at the battle the other 2 songs you perform could be covers if you wished.
