ok..here we go!!
I've tried a few of these so called "Menu Creators" and I thought I'd get some advice here before I smash my PC to bits!!
The first one that looked any good was Autoplay Menu Builder, I got this and started my posh new menu for auto playing all my course revision goodies from a single created image instead of hunting through my PC HDD...BUT..When I got to page 4 of the menu and realised it had altered every other page to exactly the same layout I was p***ed off to say the least. I also tried most of the others that Gooogle threw at me but most didnt do what it said on the box.
anyway..enough of my whinging and on the the burning question...
What is the best way to create a menu that links to various files and folders so that I can create an ISO from it all and then burn it?
I'm thinking there might be a bit of HTML type code that wil do this but as yet I have not found any info on it. A working WYSIWYG edior wold be nice but i'm willing to try a bit of code also.
Thanks for any help ;)

ive done some music cdroms with an unregistered copy of multimedia builder (if you dont mind a small "created with the unregistered multimedia builder" text on the menu.
my cdroms have a menu picture with buttons to click to play an mp3, theres also 1 to show the album cover, and 1 to show the tracklisting and theres also mp3 player buttons to play, stop, rewind and forward etc.
you stick the cd in and it auto runs

I paid for my copy of mmb way back in 2000 (along with many plugins - plugy2 is cool). Been very impressed with how the prog has evolved (especially over the last year or two:clap: ).
URL for details : http://www.mediachance.com/oldindex.html .
Thanks melthebell,
I Got a copy of this and if first looks and tests are anything to go on...Its great ;)
Its certinly got plenty of extras on it...And when I get the basics down to a fine art, I'll try the plugins.
Very Good Program
Thanks for your help both of you.

For simple projects, I agree.
However, for more sophisticated apps you need to understand the scripting language and how to use the plugins.

It's more than "quite powerful" it's &^%$ing amazingly powerful, especially when used in conjunction with some of the plugins (most of which are totall free:thumbsup: ).

Which version?? I "shelved" MMB @ V3.5xxxxxxxx as I found it rather limiting in favour of Authorware (expensive mistake:(). I eventually splashed out on MMB 4.8.3 which was a vast improvement over earlier releases. I now run 2 versions (4.9.1 & 4.9.6) as the latest versions don't allow native MP3 playback after compilation (mp3 codec licensing issues:(), there are however, plugin work arounds for MP3s:thumbsup:.
Anyway, for anybody interested in MMB, there's a collection of resources (many plugins & examples to learn from;)) at MicroTech (http://www.advanced-microtechnologies.com/MMB/ResourceLocator.htm).

cant remember which version, prolly not new..........well it did me :)
i only really need a basic easy version anyway just to knock up cdroms for my own use.
I got the latest one but i'm having a few problems getting the images to run once I create them.
It scanned and said that 85 paths were wrong so I changed them from:
D:\New\??????? (? Being the file name) TO
<ScrDir>:\New\????????
Its going to be one of those silly problems thats right in front of my nose!!!
Looked through the FAQ's but it doesnt go into any great detail about no run errors which sort of tells me its not a common problem but the file structure i've created is very complex and running various apps such as Macromedia, exe's and Flash.
EDIT: Odd problem..Insert disc..nothing, Double click on icon.....Drive is not ready, Right click, explore and run the made exe...perfect!!
