Music was a bit dissapointing this year, thought the main acts were a bit dull. Not really that bothered but last year had some gems. Apart from that it was ace.
It could do with not getting any bigger as the site is running out of space, I hope they don't sell any more tickets next year as that could ruin it. Over all though it was bloody brilliant.

yeah, nothing really hit the spot for me with any of the main acts either, but then i somehow missed the bays, which am a bit miffed about as they are usually absolutely storming! :-(
but im glad bonobo replaced nouvelle vague as they turned out to be something special on the sunday night.

some brilliant dj sets aswell...

i agree about the size too, last time i went to the chill it was the first eastnor festival in 2002 and it was about a third the size of this years (and there was a distinct lack of lairy people!). at some points i felt like i was in glastonbury again without the mud of course. if they make it any bigger it may just get less friendly... but hopefully not!

hats off to them its still the best festival for me,,, but then i havent been to the bestival yet... !

First one I went to at Eastnor was 2003 and it was stunning. Could not fault it in any way. Not too busy, spotlessly clean, brilliant. Last year seemed a bit too busy and they had a bit of a litter problem, they did not seem to hire enough people to keep the site clean. There were some stunning acts on though, most of which I had never even heard of . Ulrich Schnous, Colleen, loads of others as well as Adam Freeland in the dance tent. This year they did seem to keep the place clean but it was very busy. Also the toilets were shocking at times. Still a bloody good festival. Have you seem Solfest? its in a couple of weeks in Cumbria. I am hoping to go, even if it's just to see Banco De Gaia and Michael Dog.

Nope, something else I managed to miss! I did see Efterklang and Tinariwen, both were stunning.

Roll on Solfest in two weeks and Big Chill 2006! Wishing my life away again!

I saw Efterklang. Really enjoyed their set, but didn't stay until the end because I couldn't handle sitting downhill from the stage. Me old bones were creaking!

Other highlights for me: Fatback Band, The Earlies, Fat Freddy's Drop, Alic Russell, Gilles Peterson, The Bays, London Elektricity (just- although the stand in singer was good, Lianne Carroll's spark was missing).

Did you see Xploding Plastix? Heard good things about them since but didn't manage to see them.

Ulrich Schnauss is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! such a shame he wasn't there this year.

so am going to bestival just to see him!!!!

Saw youngbloods brass band too who were pretty good i must say...

indeed, roll on big chill 2006! no glasto next year though so it will most likely sell out much earlier.

Bays were great. Quite a hard edged set at times but full of feeling. They've played at Tuesday Club a couple of times in recent years so you never know, might be in Sheff again soonish.

What does Ulrich Schnauss do live? I've got Far Trains Passing By and love that. Live experience as good?

i first heard ulrich live in 2002 before i'd ever heard his album, and his performance quite literally blew me away!! now I have his album(s) and as far as i can remember he pretty much replicated the sound but in a bit more of an organic way and of course it was more reverberated - rolling out across the field! but still, very electronic and highly technical performer.

ah yes the tuesday club... i will keep and eye out for the bays!

Giles Peterson was excellent! I saw the earlies and london electricity too, both quite psychadelic (just what i needed at the time) (or maybe that was me!) actually my memory of london electricity is rather hazy!!

for some reason i didnt make it into the sanctuary at all all weekend but there was rather a lot going on in that field i just got distracted each time! they should have had that tent somewhere else i think...
