I need to convert some video files. They are various formats and i want them all to play on WMP but what erver i convert them too they wont play the pic only the sound.
Usualy i use VLC so formats arent an issue but i do need them to play on wmp.
Whats the best format to use?
Thanks:)
I gave up on WPM cause like you say, most of the time even if the files are converted they barely play.
Can only suggest trying to install a codec pack such as the k-lite codec pack and changing the install settings to open all files in WPM, not media player classic. Not sure though cause i just use VLC and classic
Thanks Mmrraww. The problem is that the vids are to be used in a school and they wont instal vlc or even a codec pack so i need to get them playing if at all possible in wmp.
This is why i stopped using the bugger all those years ago :lol:

You could give portable apps a try if you have a USB drive big enough. It has a portable version of VLC on it. This is assuming that you can run software from USB drives on these machines

Why not convert to WMV format? it's windows own native format that plays on WMP without a codec or any issues.
Thankyou Ghozer. I did try WMV before but couldnt get them to play in wmp. Turns out i had something called Direct show decode enabled and so it wouldnt work.
Got them converted to wmv now so thanks for that.
