I went a bit over the top buying and carving pumpkins :D and now have a load of pumpkin insides left over, so what should I do/cook with it all? I've heard it can never be tasty, surely someone on here can tell me otherwise.

Dark Moomin 28-10-2009, 08:00 you can puree it and freeze it (just google for instructions) and it can be used in cakes, muffins, cookies, biscuits, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread... Or soup as abiove, again loads of recipes out there. You can roast it like a sweet potato and have with a meal James martin has a pumpkin and chicken pot roast recipe that sounds good too. if you google there are loads of recipes! libuse 28-10-2009, 09:16 Normally I'm a pumpkin soup person, but look at this http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/bewitched_92643.shtml Pumpkin cocktail! If anyone makes this, please let me know how it is, it looks intriguing mort 28-10-2009, 11:10 I roast it, puree it and freeze it in plastic drinks cups. 1 cup makes enough soup for two or you can use it for muffins/pies etc. I also used it to make a spiced pumpkin spread that was rather nice. |
