Just wondered what other people are doing. I don't want a limo and it's about £250 a car so seems excessive when the trip is one way because the ceremony and reception are all at the same venue.

Thanks :)

Bridesmaides do travel in the same car as the bride along with mother's father's and even friends in my experience.

I know that a friend hired a car - with seated 6, there was her, her dad who was giving her away, her 2 bridesmaids and her maid of honor went in too. I dont think it really matters who goes in :)

years ago it was just the bride and her father in the car.
arriving when everyone else has got there and seated in church
the bridesmaids waited outside the church for the bride
to arrange her dress etc,

but now it really doesant matter
if the car is big enough, why not.
congratulations hope everything goes well on your day

On may wedding day we hired a car for my husband, best man and son. Then another car came to my Mum's house and took my 4 bridesmaids and then that car came back for me and my Mum (she gave me away). Then after the church service me and my husband went in one car and my Mum, son and bridesmaids in the other car.
I also hired a vintage bus to take everyone else to the reception.

It's totally up to you and what works best.

You may want some private 'father-daughter' time before he gives you away... or it might make sense to squeeze everyone into the one car... or you could make the car do two trips... all depends on how many people there are to think of, and how far the journey is etc.

(trust the person touting their wedding cars to make you feel obliged to fork out for as many people as possible to travel in fancy cars! ;) shameless!)

Thanks everyone for your advice. I would like a bit of time with my dad but then it comes down to cost at the end of the day especially since it's only a one-way trip.

When my sister got married she had one car only, has the church was only a short trip away, She had the car do trips. So the first trip was my self and my siblings, 2nd trips was the bridesmaids and my mum, 3rd trip was my sister and my dad so she to could have a bit of time with him. Saved them money on havein more then one car and everyone in the family got a ride in a fancy car. Then she got a mini bus for us all that travel by the car to the venue for the party, and my sister and brother inlaw used the car. I myself is goin on a trike has i am a ex biker and lover of these machine with my daughter, and my bridesmaids and mother and siblins with follow behind in a car.
