Light Water Valley and Flamingo Land are cheaper than Alton Towers etc and at this time of year if you drop into a nearby tourist information centre or even pre-book tickets you can obtain further discounts than just 'turning up at the door'!!

done both they're both good value.
we use to do american adventure which was the cheapest of the lot, but depends on your kids ages.
for little kiddies try White Post Farm - visited this place regularly since it first opened & it's a cracking day out - no white nuckle rides though.

Drayton Manor (near Tamworth in Staffordshire) is quite a lot cheaper than Alton Towers and is very popular around where I live, even though Alton Towers is easy to get to for us. Drayton Manor has a good web site which includes all the times and prices, as well as details of what's there - worth a look to compare with other places you;ve been

If you wait a few years - I am sure I read somewhere that Sheffield is getting its own theme park somewhere up near ski village? Could be wrong.

American Adventure is the one I like best, but then I do not usually go around to theme parks. A trip to the coast can work out cheaper and much more fun for the kiddies. See their little faces light up when they see all that sand to play in .... hmmm

I will always remember my trips to the seaside when I was a nipper while such outings as fairs and theme parks dwindle into the shadows of forgetfulness.

Drayton Manor is good. Rides to cater for all ages. Not up to the standard of Alton Towers but quite a bit cheaper and not as busy.

Note: Do not go on the log flume early in your visit.....you will get soaked. To be honest if the Qs are long i'd give it a miss as it aint that good anyway.

Drayton Manor and Flamingo Land are the best choices at the moment.

Both parks have had major investment in the last couple of years.

(Obviously im biased towards Alton Towers as I'm a season pass holder.. but AT does give you more bang for your buck!)
